I know waaaay back they would give a voucher for the difference if one's exact itinerary could be booked at a lower price. I did it back in 2004 or so and it was a slight PITA in that the voucher couldn't be used online. The only way to use them was to buy tickets with a rep on the phone and go to the ticket counter at the airport to pay for them with the voucher & any amount due.

So anyway, has any of this changed?
Do they allow anything if you find a lower price?:confused3

Thanks! :goodvibes

US Airways and most airlines discontinued that program completely, years ago. Now you pay the normal change fee and rebook your flight as if you were making a change. Some of the higher priced fare categories don't have change fees but what you change them to may have change fees for yet more changes.

In turn that almost always eliminates the benefit of doing it.

In turn that eliminates the incentive to book early for the sake of booking early. (There are other and good reasons to book early which are too long for me to elaborate on here.)

Southwest still has that program.

Thanks.

It's a very popular travel week here due to schools being closed 3-5 days depending on the district. Usually it starts out on the high side and only gets worse. I've never seen it drop for this week before.
