price and schedule change-Delta

I bought our tix last Wednesday for 215.00 from delta- nonstop B'ham Rt- I looked to see if price had changed- read on here about the big price changes- not only had they doubled in price -close to $400 each and the return was an hour and 45 minutes later- not very happy- they offered the other nonstop- free but it's at 1:30 and we had planned to have a full day so now we will get home even later- I am just thrilled that i went ahead and bought them- now I only hope they don't go on strike- if so we'll have to drive!!!

Please continue to check your flights frequently. We had bought non-stop tickets from Jackson, MS to Orlando and that flight was cancelled. They put us on another flight and routed us through Atlanta for free. The only perk is that we are getting to Orlando 2 hours earlier than we would have.

Agree with the previous poster... please check flights frequently.. we had an American Airlines Flight going to the Caribbean this winter. My husband works at the airport and noticed the flight we had booked had a different flight #, and was consistently leaving :10min later. I looked online and noticed the new flight #, along with our seats that were supposed to be reserved showing available. I called the airline (a week or two before our flight) and was told that they had changed that flight (to leave :10 min later) however when the computer reassigned us we were put on a flight leaving a day earlier with a 15 hour layover in Miami! They never even notified us.. When asked about going on the flight that left :10 min later they were able to accomodate us.. can you imagine showing up at the airport only to find out your flight was changed and you were supposed to leave the day before?

I checked again the other day and it's been changed even later- originally supposed to leave Orlando at 6:00 p.m. then 7:40 now 8:05- I hope it still leaves that night or we're in trouble.

I wouldn't think they would cancel the flight out that night.. Just feel sorry for other people that may have counted on bus transportation home from the airport. I know here at Boston, (Logan) the last bus is 11pm

If your flight is changed or delayed so you think you will miss the last ground transportation when you would land, you can ask for a change to a flight the next day (no free hotel room or meals) and the airline should oblige at no charge.

Pricess can change drastically in a matter of days, in either direction. I've been watching and waiting. I've seen them do the same thing. I really don't understand how one week their one price then they can double the next and in another week or so come back down to cheaper or maybe a little more than what they were. If someone could explain this I would love to know. I just assume it gets the people who just hop on and buy tickets w/out watching the prices to see what they are doing. I would never pay $400 for a ticket b/c I know they won't stay that high. Oh well.
