I've tried every trick in the book (and suggested on the DIS) cause I'm the Queen of blisters. I tried special walking sneakers, special coolmax socks, moleskins (which are great), antipersperant spray, baby powder, Bodyglide, Blistershield, sandals from different brands, changing my shoes around each day, peppermint lotion at the end of the day, motrin for pain and swelling etc...
This is what has worked for me:
1) Ecco Cosmo sandals and Teva Pretty Rugged leather sandals (flip flop for the pool)...sneakers didn't work and I gave up on them. I do switch my shoes around but mostly wear the Teva's (unless they get wet!)
2) Bodyglide on my feet in the hot spots
3) Blistershield for chafing between my legs (but Bodyglide works just as well); no more chafing!
4) I take 2 motrin every morning (to prevent pain and swelling)
5) At the end of the day, if I can, I soak my feet for awhile in the tub or whirlpool, depending on where I'm staying.
6) Before I go to bed, I put the peppermint lotion on my feet (from Dr. Sholls) and my feet feel GREAT the next morning and NO blisters in 3 trips now!
7) I still bring moleskins just in case but haven't used it in 2 trips.
Good luck everyone cause different tips work for each person's feet because everyone's feet are different.
