Hey people!

Sorry if these Qs are completely obvious to answer! I know pretty much all there is about Disneyland Paris, but I've only spent a (very busy 4th July) day at DLR and saw hardly anything.

Anyway, my bf and I are off the Vegas next year, and I'm thinking of sneaking in a few days at DLR.

Would 3 days 2 nights be enough in late September to see and do most things?

We would stay at the Grand Californian (is this the best choice?), is there any kind of EMH? We'd be there weekdays most likely.

Are there fireworks and fantasmic on everyday at DLR? Or is it only certain times of year?

Hi torsie 24!

I usually do three days and two nights. I think that will be a good amount of time. I recommend you doing some homework on this site though to get the most out of DLR.

If you are not worrying about budget GCH is AMAZING. Its beautiful because of the dark woods and ambience. It is the closest hotel to the two parks and that is a major plus when your feet are killing you.

I'm not completely sure, but I think in september they only do fireworks on the weekends and when it isn't too windy. You can check the calendar on http://disneyland.go.com and go under PLAN and select ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE to see what is going to be running at the time. You'll have to check when its closer to the date, but I'm sure they have parades everyday.

I'm not sure what EMH is, but we have Magic Mornings if thats the same thing. You get to go into the park an hour early before the park officially opens. You get that when you buy a three day park hopper. If you have more questions please ask !!!

Welcome to the DLR board! :hippie:

All good questions....I've provided opinions below:

Great idea!

3 full days would be good...3 1/2 would be better.

We would stay at the Grand Californian (is this the best choice?),

The GCH is the most deluxe...& if money is no object, do it. Many other options (even off site) that are less $$ but OK to nice.

is there any kind of EMH? We'd be there weekdays most likely.

Magic Mornings (MM) are Sat/Sun/Tue/Thurs....gets you in one hour early. See DLR29's thread in the link below for all info & how to get it.

Normally only on weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun) for these events (check out the DLR Calender for Sept.) Because of this, I recommend a Sun-Tues or Wed-Sat visit (or something like that)....if possible.

Here's a link that has many threads that has been helpful for many. Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

We live in Vegas and make the drive all of the time! Only about 4 hours without traffic, so I'd go if I were you too!!!

3 days and 2 nights are enough to see most everything, especially with some planning!

Grand Californian if definitely the nicest DLR Hotel, and the priciest!

Unfortunately, during Sept, fireworks and Fantasmic will probably only be shown on the weekends, including Sunday night, if you could get there on Sunday. If you stay at one of the DL Hotels, you will be able to take advantage of getting into Disneyland 1 hour early on certain days.

Enjoy your planning and have a great trip! :goodvibes

DL does not have EMH like WDW does. The only thing DL offers is MM (Magic Mornings) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. But MM days are not to be avoided like at WDW. You need to take advantage of these days at DL. If you stay at GCH, you will be able to go into MM every morning that it is offered during your stay as a resort guest.

Hi there, I recognise you from the DLRP board!!

DH and I are going to Disneyland next month and are also staying at the GCH. From what I can gather if you love the Disneyland hotel at Paris then you will love the GCH as they have the same proximity to the parks. We are doing 5 nights, but we are also doing a day at Knotts Berry Farm.

For EE I would check out the EE superthread on this board, there is a wealth of info there it is a must read. I would also read Hydroguys sticky at the top of the board, there is a lot of good info there too.

As for the Vegas bit we are doing that too. We are flying with Virgin to LAX then back from Las Vegas. In Vegas we are staying at the Bellagio for a week.

Hope you have a fab trip!!

Thank you for such a fast response!

EMH=extra magic hours, in disneyland paris if you stay at a disney hotel you get into the parks 2 hours before official opening. It's amazng as you get all the fatasyland rides done nefore there are long lines!

Also, two weeks back my boyfriend and I were the ONLY people on Mainstreet and in the castle for like 10 whole minutes!!

This photo is my pride and joy! And I would love to have the same chance at DLR!

WOW thats awesome !! I really don't think that will happen at DLR though haha. It'd be nice for sure. You also get to enter DL early in the morning when staying at a resort hotel, although that does not apply for DCA.

Although there is a segway tour of DCA. I've never done it, but it sounds SOOO cool. You should make a list of specific attractions that you want to go on and see if they're going to be packed because of the popularity of them. The hydroguy sticky is VERY helpful. I hope you guys have a kick butt time !

From what I gather MM won't be like EMH at DLRP!! It will be a little more crowded!!

BTW I have a similar photo from my April DLP trip, except I took this one and DH refused to pose!!

I know what you mean about tough decisions, we stayed at the Venetain and the New York New York in the past. We decided we wanted one hotel mid strip this time, that and I said last visit no matter what we were staying at the Bellagio next time!!
