We experienced heavy crowds this weekend
9/29 mnshp - Crowded for a special event but still pretty fun and some rides had no wait (POTC- was walk on) - others were long lines (30 minutes for Buzz!). Got decent seats (front row curb) for the second parade about 20 minutes prior. Long lines for free face painting- but they do a great job
.
9/30 - MK - Very crowded- for example- 90 minute wait for Splash. We waited 25 minutes WITH fastpass! :(

10/1 Epcot - Kind of crowded- It was a Fast pass kinda day. The line for Turtle talk was crazy- but I heard it moved pretty fast. Livingseas was bustling with people. Had to get outa there. Everywhere else was busy but tolerable. Lines for food and wine kiosks were pretty long. The Family Stone band sounded great.

I am hoping things will slow down today- I know school is out down here so I am not counting on it. Today we are doing MGM- Fingers crossed it won't be a mob scene.

Well, I expected it would be a crazy since the new celebration. I am happy to see it getting some business. It was not long ago that our local news stated that attendance was at an all time low. Although we had the crowds, we need the crowds to keep Disney alive.

Have a good day!

Osceola county has school today so not sure what local schools are out.

MK and EP were really packed all weekend. Pirates had a 30 min wait Saturday at 11:00 am. Compared to last Saturday at the same time we walked onto both Splash and BTMRR

I did notice it being pretty crowded this weekend. Especially in World Showcase. The lines for the food booths were pretty long around 12:30 - 1:00!

I never waited in a line for any ride though. But I rode all the MK rides during MNSSHP (no wait) and if a line looked like it had a long line, I skipped it for later. I went solo, so it was just as easy to do that.

And it was HOT on Sat and Sun afternoons. Man alive, and I'm from Dallas - you'd think I could take the heat :rotfl2: I always expect a nice afternoon shower in Orlando and it didn't happen this trip. That always cools things off a bit.

We've been here since Friday and agree that it is crowded! MGM got crowded after 11:00 yesterday. We left at 3:00 and came back to the resort. Went to Epcot last night at 7:00 and it was packed in the WS! People were already waiting for Illuminations at 7:30. I'm hoping that it starts to slow down a little today.
We heard on the news that some schools had a teacher in-service day on Friday and I think some schools are out for Yom Kippur today. The weather has been hot but beautiful. We've seen lovebugs here and there but no swarms, thank goodness!

Food and Wine started on Friday, and Million Dreams started on Sunday! :thumbsup2 This is why its crowded.

Also keep in mind that in October, any given week kids somewhere in Florida (or at least along the east coast) are out of school. "Fall Break" seems pretty common now, just more spread out than Spring Break.

My own observation, EPCOT was crowded but managable on Saturday--huge lines for favorite country food booths (Ireland, Australia, Japan) and the first Survivor show, but still walked onto SSE and JIYI.

I visited the MK and Epcot yesterdat (Sunday) Did not seem too crowded to me..and I hate crowds. Seemed like normal weekend crowds to me.

Some of the crowds also probably stem from the last of the free dining patrons, checking in on the 30th. I know if I was planning an early Oct. trip, I would have moved it up to get the dining for free!!!

I just got back from Disney this weekend. I only went to AK and MK on Saturday though. AK was empty in the morning with EE having a 30 minute wait when I left at like 12:30. Then I headed over to MK to ride POTC and MK did seem pretty crowded but it was late in the afternoon now. We went back to MK later at night and we rode more rides in the last hour it was open the we did all day.

We were at Epcot this morning and crowds were pretty non-existent, at least in World Showcase. We really didn't venture into Future World.

MNSSHP was great tonight, everything was a walk-on! I hope this means low crowds for the rest of the week!

I went to Epcot Saturday and F&W lines were long, even lined up at Canada before 11am. Went to MK on Sunday and there were huge lines. It was funny because last tuesday we went to MGM and it was very empty. Everyone seemed to come on Friday.

We are thinking of taking a day trip in the middle of October. We will spend the morning in EPCOT and the afternoon and evening in the Magic Kingdom until closing. Does anyone thing the crowds in EPCOT will be heavy? We are hoping the only wait is on Soarin'. We would like to get in and out of the park by at least 12:30.

We did this before at Animal Kingdom and we did everything at that park. We are fast movers! :rotfl:

Tampa schools were out yesterday (Monday)--it was the reason why we did a mini-vacation over the weekend. :) I suspect the crowds will start dying a bit more judging by what I saw yesterday morning: just about every campsite as far as I could see had an express checkout envelope on their car. We're talking 20-30 cars easily & that's a small cross-section of the resorts in general. :rotfl:

Having said that, I don't think you'll find "dead" parks anymore, especially with the new contest, shows, etc.

We got here on the 29th and stay until the 8th. the halloween party on the 29th was completely sold out and the lines were huge. The weekend at epcot and MK was definately packed and we did not ride anything. On monday we decided to try universal with our new annual passes and it was empty i.e. walk on everything. today we hit epcot for the FW and I hope it is not busy. My kids live north of orlando in seminole county and they have this entire week off. The restaurants are really busy. we tried to change a few and got stuffed. Had reservations for mama melrose last night at 7:40 and they were turning away people which is very unusual for this restaurant. Of course, le cellier and chef mickeys are completely booked as usual. We are at the POP now and I did notice a big difference between sunday and monday breakfast lines. Monday was probably half as full as sunday and I hope I see that in the parks today.

P.S. We moved from Ohio to Lake Mary, FL 2 months ago and words cannot describe how much we enjoy life now. Every week is like a vacation. Yes things are more expensive here but you do get little offsets from living up north like no $300 gas bill in addition to your electric bill. Our auto insurance rates with geico cost us like $30 extra for 2 cars for 6 months which is not bad at all. Rent is bad though i.e. over 1k. We have been to disney every weekend since we have been here. We have 2 year annual passes now to universal and seaworld. We are 45 minutes from the beach. Life is ohh sooo good now.

Many schools were out yesterday because of Yom Kippur, so I'm sure that really contributed to the crowds.

Have Fun!
Its So Much Fun There!
