Prettiest beach in Florida?

I don't have a specific beach, but thus far, I found the Emerald Coast--in particular Destin to be gorgeous. The water is a perfect shade of green, at least on our visit. (until it is packed with tourists that is).

I live in Brevard and our water isn't clear at all--a bit dingy from all the sand getting stirred up with the tides. I wouldn't call it "pretty". But it's nice.

The Destin area is my favorite. I love the white sand.

The stretch of 30A between Panama City Beach and Destin. The sand is very white, the beaches are CLEAN and the water is very clear and like the Caribbean

Destin FL.

I'm biased because I grew up there, but also every beach I've seen dissapoints me now ;)

Yep - they're right - Destin is gorgeous - but lots of tourists. Pensacola Beach is nice too & a whole lot less people & only 1 hour from Destin so you could visit both if you wanted

I second Pensacola -- one of the loveliest beaches I've seen, and I've seen a lot (New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii <Maui, Big Island and Oahu>, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Castaway Cay -- LOL!). Have a great time!

We love going to Port St. Joe, its about an hour/hour and a half from Panama City Beach. The place we normally stay is right next to the National Park which has amazing snorkling on one side of the peninsula and perfect recreational conditions on the other.

Another girl from Destin here!! I have to admit I have been to the Caribbean, beaches in Cali (where I now live), and a bunch up and down the east coast and all over Florida! I was born and raised in a town right by Destin!! Worked there and was at the beach there everyday!! It's beaches are very comparable to the Caribbean Islands if not better!! :goodvibes I miss my home!! My family still lives there and they will never move!! :thumbsup2

Captiva and North Captiva. Can't beat them. Sunsets, lots of shells, palm trees, empty most of the time. Just gorgeous!!!

I agree! Although I'm a bit biased. We own a house in Old Florida Beach (turn in at Goatfeathers)

I have 30A stickers on my car!!

I think Destin rivals the Caribbean in terms of beauty. We had always vacationed in the Sanibel/Naples region, which I thought was nice. Then we visited Destin and were blown away. It is soooo much prettier than further south.

We went in October and it was practically deserted, yet still 75-80 degrees each day. And it is so much closer to travelers than southern Florida. Too bad it's not warm in the winter or else we would always choose Destin over Ft. Myers Beach.

(All of you DISers from Destin need to get down on your knees and thank your lucky stars!) :worship:

Sarasota hands down

The sand was amazing and the water was clear. And it wasn't full of tourists :rotfl:

I like all the keys near Sarasota: Long Boat, Siesta....

And, FTR, I spent two weeks at Destin last April and was not that impressed by the beaches. I know, I know...always against the grain;)

Anna Maria Island is my fave. No crowds, or high rises - very serene. We did a trip to WDW last April and ended it on Anna Maria. My kids thought it was the best trip ever.
Just my 2cents....
karenos;)
