Pretrip - 4 Canadians Trip to the World 6/30-7/7

I know you made a decision about the rental car, but I was just going to add the option of a towncar. Most companies have a grocery stop, too. Thats what we're doing and we're really excited to be "chaffeured" around but not have to deal with the luggage mess of ME. I would be way too nervous with that as well. Good luck whatever you do, though! Its Disney..cant be too bad no matter what. :rotfl:

Well I just called Disney and was able to book a package with "the code" that has been much discussed today. I got June 30th-July 7th Courtyard View at the Wilderness Lodge with dining, park hopper and water parks option all for $4237!!!! My AAA package without dining was $3950!!! Major savings!! I am so excited!!:cheer2:

July 1st - Magic Kingdom in the morning/early afternoon and then back to the hotel for swimming and then a free evening to play mini golf or perhaps go to Downtown Disney. I also have a reservation for dinner at Le Cellier tonight as it is Canada Day and being a good Canadian I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate the holiday.

Hey there! Thanks for coming over to read my report. I hope that it can be even half as good as yours!

Yikes! I really let this pre-trippie die off. Sorry for not being very attentive I promise to do a much better job with keeping on top of things from now on and once I start my trip report. I guess I just started the pre-trippie way too early! We are only a week away and the excitement is building. This is going to be an exciting week for the family. My brother graduates from high school on Thursday and we are having a big BBQ with family and friends to celebrate. It should be very interesting as my dad is coming down from Ottawa and he is bringing his wife (the dreaded stepmother) and our stepsister who is very sweet. Our stepmother is Italian and only moved to Canada two years ago when she married my dad. Let's just say that our few encounters with her have been very interesting.... Her English is not very good and some of the things she does we find very odd, perhaps it is just the cultural difference but we do not understand how our dad can stand to live with her, we find her very annoying. We always have a good laugh after spending time with her though as we find her and my dad quite ridiculous! My dad does not know we are going to Disney as he hates Disney and would not approve so we have decided just not to tell him as we do not want him to bring us down with his Disney bashing. It will be very hard to not say anything while he is visiting as we will be leaving the next day and our joy over going to Disney will be at a sickening high.

Last week I took a trip up to Ottawa with my mom to do a little shopping for our trip. Had to get new clothes because everybody knows that when you go on vacation you need a whole new wardrobe! We went to Ottawa as our little town of Kingston does not have much variety in the way of clothes shopping and Ottawa has one big attraction that Kingston does not, the DISNEY STORE! As we entered the store I noticed that the semi-annual sale was on, bargain city!! I picked up some beach towels to take on the trip with us to use at the water parks and my all time favourite purchase was this awesome snowglobe. It was only $50 marked down from $114. I could not resist!

A few weeks ago my mom got me a really sweet gift to thank me for planning this family trip. She had noticed me admiring these in a store one day and so she bought them for me. I think they are adorable!

With all this new Disney stuff I have acquired hopefully my need for souvenirs while in Florida will be lessened. There are only two things that I really want to get and that is the Photopass CD and I want to pick-a-pearl in Epcot and have it set into a necklace. I would also like a Pal Mickey but I'm not sure I could justify spending the $60 on him. We will see how this works out though. I am a shopaholic and I am a very compulsive shopper. I plan on only taking $200 in cash for souvenirs and leaving the credit card in the room safe so that I really have to think about what I buy.

Well that is all for today. I will probably be posting daily up until we leave and then I will try and start the trip report right away!

You're back! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear the trip report, I think we'll be writing them about the same time! :) I'm leaving in 2 days so here's some pixie dust for your trip! Have fun! :wizard:

I'm looking forward to reading your trip report as well. I hope that you have a great trip as well with lots of pixie dust!

Well we are only five short days away. :cheer2: Today is my last day at work before my nice two and a half week vacation. I am stuck working a dreaded 12 hour shift though. To pass the time I plan on working on the last few things I need to do for Disney. I'm going to make up little notecards with our ADR's and touring plans and then laminate them. Once that is done I will probably spend the rest of my shift reading other people's trip reports (my favourite hobby to kill the time at work). You are probably wondering why I have all this free time at work. Well I work at a university in the security department. I work in the Emergency Centre where I monitor Intrusion/Fire Alarms and answer the phones if anybody is in need of assistance of any kind and I really mean any kind. You would die of laughter if you heard some of the calls that I get. I shake my head sometimes, this is one of the top universities in Canada people here are suppossed to be smart right? All in all it is a great student job and it pays well so there is not much room for complaint. Most of the time this time of year things are pretty slow and there is not much for me to do in the way of work so I get to spend all my time on the Dis while getting paid. I know, pretty sweet deal. I have 8 1/2 hours till my shift ends and then I'm on vacation!:cheer2:

Just found your pre-trip!

Your family is lucky to have you planning such a great trip for them. Have a great time and I can't wait to read the trip report!

p.s. You do have a sweet deal at your job!

Well today is packing day! We leave tonight to catch our very early morning flight tomorrow! Yesterday was Erich's graduation. It was great. He had a lot of fun. Here he is at his ceremony and then posing with our mom afterwards at the family BBQ.

We are all really excited to be leaving tonight. I can't believe the trip has finally arrived. I have been planning it for about a year now and it has felt like forever! Today Alek is coming over around 10 and we are going to pack everything and then watch Goofy Movie and Mickey cartoons until he needs to go to work in the afternoon. It is a short shift so he should be home by 9 and then we will all probably try and take a nap before having to leave at 2am:eek: Not sure if I will be able to sleep due to all my excitement and nerves. I will probably worry about something going wrong all the way down. Once I step into our room at the beautiful Wilderness Lodge my nerves will probably disappear. Hopefully.

Here is our final itinerary after many changes on my part:

June 30th - Land in Orlando @ noon, pick up rental car and drive to the WL where hopefully our room will be ready. Drop our stuff of in our room and then head out to hit up a grocery store for water and other snack for the room. We have dinner reservations for 5:00 at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and then dependng on our energy level we may head over to the Magic Kingdom.

July 1st - I have made this a relaxed day to recover from all the travelling and running around yesterday. We are going to head over to the MK for opening and stay until around 1pm or whenever we feel like leaving. We have dinner reservation at 1900 Park Fare for 7:10 and then no plans after that. We will just hang out and do whatever comes to mind. Maybe play some mini golf.

July 2nd - Epcot in the morning, arriving at opening. Midday break and then MGM in the evening. We have 8:00 reservations at Mama Melrose and then we plan on going to the secong showing of Fantasmic!

July 3rd - This is a water park day, not sure which one yet. We have two days for water parks so whichever one we don't hit today we will go to later in the trip. Lunch reservations at Planet Hollywood for 2:00. My brother really wanted to eat here so I made the reservations even though I had read many bad reviews. In the evening we are going to brave the Magic Kingdom for the 4th of July preview fireworks.

July 4th - This is our Animal Kingdom Day. We will hang out here until we feel like leaving. We have 8pm dinner reservations at Wolfgang Puck Cafe and depending on our mood we may hang out at Downtown Disney for the fireworks.

July 5th - This is our MGM morning then Magic Kingdom in the evening for Spectro and Wishes with dinner reservations at 6:00 at the Liberty Tree Tavern.

July 6th - Our second water park day followed by an evening at Epcot for Illuminations. We have dinner reservations at Alfredo's for 4:30.

July 7th - Departure Day:sad2: We have 8:05 breakfast reservations at the Crystal Palace and then we will squeeze in a few last rides before we head to the airport for our 4:00 flight back home.

My brothers really want to have dinner at Chef Mickey's one night but they did not inform me of this until about a week ago so of course there was no availability. I will try again for either the 30th or the 1st once we arrive but I am not holding my breath. If only they had told me this months ago when I was making reservations.:headache: Hopefully for their sack somebody cancels and we can snag their spot.

See you all when I get back!

Can't wait to read about your trip and how the weather was. I have freinds from Alberta here who are down there for June 30-July 15 they are doing Disney the same time you did July 1-7. It is their frist time so hope the weather was nice and the lines not to long. My family and I are going in Sep. for two weeks and free dining.:cool1: :thumbsup2

Just a message to all those who may be subscribed to the pre-trip report, I have started a new thread for the actual trip report so you can just follow the link posted below in my siggie, Our Funfilled Action Packed Trip over the Fourth of July, and I hope to hear from you!
