Pretend Pirates - Mean Dreams - And a Little Understanding Please

Here we go again....

Some like to play pretend pirates, some like to play for real. Neither should be made to feel bad for their choice.

I was on VMK for a grand total of 2 minutes before I was made to feel bad about my preference to play real pirates over pretend pirates.

Is this necessary? Anyone who ever wants to has an invite to come shoot it out on the pirate seas with us. Come aboard. We will NEVER make you feel bad about not wanting to play with us or about sinking if you DO play with us.

Last week, I tried to help someone get credits and they quit when they got frustrated. This week, all I said was, "Hi All!" and I was made to feel bad about not playing pretend pirates before I even said yes or no to the invite. I guess I am just a meanie for enjoying playing the game full speed ahead.

Come on everyone. People have different things that they enjoy. Pretend pirates just isn't fun for some of us. It's really that simple. Why is that an issue?

I totally agree with you Dreams!
Different people have different preferences on how to play.
Some may enjoy the full-go game of Pirates and how the instructions say.
On the other hand some like to play in a Friendly way, so everyone has a sense of "winning".
Both are fine and it's just what you personally perfer.
I don't think anyone should be put down are "pushed" away, because of a personal perference.
Sorry that happened to you Dreams and hopefully those people will see that it was a misunderstanding and that everyone is different- and their perferences are different also

On Fun Days, I usually take an hour or so to try my hand at Regular Shoot to Win Pirates. Then I'll probably move onto Friendly Pirates.

Friendly/Pretend Pirates is for folks that aren't all interested in the GAME, but are interested in the credits.

Shoot to Win Pirates is for folks that want to have a good time and enjoy the game itself, while making credits. They want to feel the THRILL of victory or the DESPAIR of defeat.

Just as long as the STW People don't play in Friendly Games, then we should be alright. Let people play how they want!

Totally agree 100%! No-one should be made to feel badif they don't want to play/do something. I hope the person that made you feel bad apologises.
