Prestige Towncar Tip Question

We decided to not go with the Magical Express through Disney and go with Prestige Towncar instead (thanks to all the tips on the boards). We want to get as much time in at the parks on our first day and don't want to have to deal with long waits on the Magical Express busses.

I have never used a town car service (last time we just got a rental) and I wondered how much should I tip? Also has anyone else had any good experiences with Prestige Towncar or another similar company? Thanks.

We were quite happy with Prestige Towncar. Although we were surprised to find that they had contracted with another company to provide our van transportation, our driver was very courteous (not to mention it was a thrill to watch a movie on their HUGE flip-down DVD player during our trip to the airport). Sorry, the official "tipper" of the family isn't at home right now, so we're not sure what to recommend for that. Good luck!

I was thinking maybe $10? But I don't want to come off like a cheap skate!

We tip $10 for each leg. If we do the grocery stop, we tip $15 on the first leg.

I'm not sure which towncar we went with, but it included a grocery stop and tip... I still gave him $5 I think, but when I signed the contract, I did ask if tip was included, to make sure he was compensated...

Good question, we are using town car service for our trip and I guess it never dawned on me that there are 2 legs of the trip...should I tip 1/2 and 1/2 or all at once??? I guess 1/2 and 1/2 would be best in case we have another driver on the return huh?

Hi - I have been doing quite a bit of searching for information on our first trip to Disney (and spending quite a lot of time on this site - I think I am addicted). Anyway, I read that you should tip half and half Because of the fact that on the ride back, you may not get the same driver.

So I guess maybe $5-$10 is a good tip each way? I just don't want to look like a chump if I don't give him enough! LOL There will be 4 of us (with two boys 2 & 4) so I don't know if that matters in the tip either?

We just got back two nights ago from WDW. We used Prestige and were very happy with them. I had read good reviews about a driver named Rafael so I called a few days before and requested him. Unfortunately I didn't get him, but got a very nice driver. I'm afraid I've already forgotten his name, but he was Brazilian and his name started with a 'M'. Anyway he was prompt, professional and friendly. We had him for both trips and have absolutely no complaints. On the return trip he even made sure our luggage was checked in curbside handing the bags to the skycap himself. Prestige charges only $80.00 round trip (including Magic Kingdom resorts). This was the cheapest we found. I tipped $10.00 each way. The funny thing was that when I mentioned Rafael to him he said Rafael was his boss, but frequently drove too.

Thanks, aubriee. I was really starting to wonder if anyone on DIS had used Prestige... I haven't read much about what people thought. Most seemed to use Tiffany Towncar, but I thought even if I could save a couple of bucks by going a little cheaper with Prestige, I could get more souviners.

Anyone else use Prestige and have good/bad experiences?

We will be using them at the end of the month. I will post our experience when we get back.

Thanks for the info. We will be using Prestige, for the first time, and haven't really heard much about them...good or bad. I'm glad to hear this! :D

We used them in August and were really pleased with the prompt, friendly service. We got Rafael. I tipped $10 each way for two of us.

for our 25 anniversary I surprised my DH with a towncar (and boy was he surprised!!!!)

anyway I called a few just to get a feel for the place (I called 3 to be exact) and Prestige was the one I got the "best feeling" for

everything went like clockwork it almost got ruined thought as my DH asked if I wanted to go in the Disney Resort store before going to baggage pick up

well if I said no he'd know something was up so we went through rather swiftly I may add

anyway as we're coming down the escalators I keep glancing to find our driver

when we got to baggage I was going to stay while DH was getting the luggage I turned around and there I saw the sign that even read " Happy 25th"
with our names!!!

Our driver Ray was very nice took care of our luggage every step of the way
stopped at Publix was very easy to talk to but didnt talk your ear off about his personal life mostly just answered our questions about all the huricanes since we were there in OCt.

was 10 minutes early to take us back to the airport.

I tipped him $10 each way.

You pay for RT when you get to the hotel.

All in all we were very impressed with our first towncar service. I was really nervous since I was doing this my own but thanks to the great help I got from the wonderful people on this board everything was great!!!

Im sure you'll be very happy with Prestige
