I just recently read some where about a band you wear on your wrist that has a pressure point that helps with motion sickness and morning sickness. Has anyone ever used these and know if they work?

THey're called Sea Bands. You can get them at Wal-Mart or major pharmacy chains. I used them, they definitely work. Put them on before you board...the key is to use them before you need them. I also use them when flying :)

Thanks for your quick reply. I will put them on our list of things to get. I don't do well with medicine. So I thought this would be a better route, just in case. I will put them on before we board. Better safe than sorry;)

I thought I would use them too on one of my cruises (thankfully I was smart enough to bring other things as well) and I put them on. That night we were in fairly rough seas and I ended up SO sick with them. I thought I didnt have them placed right so I went down to the ships doctor and he said they were placed right but that I must have deep pressure points and told me to take some Meclizine and forget about them. I also tried them with pregnancy morning sickness and they didnt work then either. I know for some people they work well but please take something else in case they dont! They would be wonderful if they worked on me and I would take them every time but no one in my immediate family (parents, brothers) can use them...we all have too deep of pressure points to make them work for us! I even went as far a while ago to buy the bands that pulse a little electricity to your wrist hoping they would work as well (paid over 100 dollars for them) and they werent any better!
I just wanted to give you a heads up that they could possibly not work!! I had heard wonderful first hand accounts from people about how great they were and I believed they would be for me as well....please dont get sucked into thinking they will be your cure all (just in case they arent!)
Anyway that is my experience with them.

I tried the seabands twice in the past and they did not work at all for me...only thing that worked well was Bonine.

I never tried the seabands, but Meclizine(Bonine) always works for me. No drowsy with little or no side effects (sometimes dry mouth)

I was on the 9/7/02 cruise and the Sea Bands worked for me. I was feeling ill from the moment we left Port Canaveral. By Dinner, we had the late seating I was not well at all. We missed the light show at AP because I needed to get out of there quick. Due to a medical condition I am unable to take certain medications, Bonine is one of them. I found the Sea Bands in the luggage and put them on. I was fine the rest of the trip including the Golden Eagle Catamaran which was a bumpy ride. My only problem is now I have these really unusual white stripes on my wrists that didn't get golden tan like the rest of me. I hope this non medicated method will work for you.

I, too, tried the SeaBands. I found them to work for awhile, but when we got into some good-sized swells, I was sick! I have since returned to my old favorite, Bonine. (One pill per day, no drowsiness.) If medication bothers you, ginger is supposed to be good--I haven't tried it, but I know others who have.

They work for me, but only when I am flying. They didn't work for me on the cruise.
Meclizine makes me sleepy.
I take the patch and cut it in half. No problems.
