We are taking 3 DS for the first time in December and I want to make sure that they have enough "new" pennies to make the pressed pennies. Does anyone know how many there are total between all the parks?
I don't think you want to try to get "all" of the pressed pennies. There are tons of machines in each park plus at the resorts and DTD. Each machine usually has four design options as well. Here is a website that has a good listing.
If you run out of pennies (or quarters) you can get change at any register at WDW. Last year I ran out of pennies and changed a dime. The CM very nicely went through the register and gave me the 10 shinest dimes in the bunch. They are very helpful and see it all the time
My DD (3) favorite activity in WDW is pressed pennies.
The books are $7 and come in 2 styles -- Mickey with assorted characters and Tinkerbell. The Tinkerbell one holds 6 pressed quarters as well. The Mickey one only holds pennies.
Yes, we bought one in Feburary for DD at the Magic Kingdom (it was the only place we could find it at). It was in a a shop near the front gate, it would be off to the right as you are heading towards mainstreet.
Also, i thought I read some where that there are 51 pressed machines, but keep in mind they have more then one picture to select from.
one thing we found works very well is to use the "tubes" that mini M&M comein. You can stack your 2 quarters and a penny so you will always be ready and not have to dig through your bag for the change
