I remember reading this somewhere but forget where. Can anyone give me advice as to what type (new or older) or years of pennies are the best for good images? I really appreciate the info. We're not going for about 5 weeks but I'm trying to get some of the little things taken care of.

Thanks a bunch!! :flower: :flower:

Pennies from before 1982 are best. They're all copper as opposed to newer coins that have a zinc center. The zinc will show up and make the image streaked with silver metal that will tarnish badly. The older coins are easily polished before or after pressing if you like shiny smashies. :wizard:

Is there a guide to all the pressed penny machines (where they're located, what kind of image, etc.?) Seems like I've seen somethng on that before, but don't remember. Anyone?

Thanks a lot, and to think, I have my pennies sitting waiting to go to the bank. Guess I found something for DD4 to do tomorrow!

Thanks, NJDisneyMom. Knew I'd seen that somewhere - wish I'd remembered it was Deb's site!
