We're leaving on Sunday!! So excited!

I'd like to get some coin rolls for the pressed penny machines.

How many do I need?

Is there a list or an idea of how many pressed penny machines we may see?

How many dimes, nickels, quarters? (do they exist?)

I know penny machines are 50cents each plus the penny. How much for the others?

Thank you so much!

Thank you! You've just reminded me about this. Our kids absolutely loved collecting them last year. I'll have to remind them to dig out their collector books for this trip. It will be a fun scavenger hunt to track down the ones that they don't have yet.

Thank you DangerMouse for the great website. My husband is really excited to do this on our up and coming trip, just five days away!!!!!! I didn't realize that there was that many penny machines. I raided the coin jar and only came up with 64 quarters. That's only 32 pressed pennies. Oh well, it should be enough to keep him happy.

They sell cute collector books for you to store them in. It hold 6 Quarters or nickels and 36 pennies with the small one or 64 with the bigger one

Actually, I just took a closer look. The WDW big one holds 64 pennies or dimes. The DL big book holds 68 pennies or dimes and 6 nickesl or quarters. It really makes a great keepsake

I thought you could get change on Main Street? (Finding decent pennies to press is always a bigger concern for me, personally--the old grimy ones come out poorly but the post-1982 ones usually come out streaked, and I don't have much luck cleaning pennies either, LOL.)

Is it bad that one of the things I was most excited about doing was getting an EVE pressed nickel? :) (Though the Mittens and Bolt pressed pennies were a delightful surprise. :) )

Would you get change on Main street at the bank or in the stores. We're coming from Australia so nickels and quarters aren't so easy to come by.

Jacs in the little arcade place on main st (next to the ice cream place) they have change machines. You put in $1 or $5 and it gives you quarters or you put in $1 and it gives you pennies :thumbsup2

Thanks for that :woohoo:

We're going to be busy sorting out the pre 1982? or is it 84? pennies tonight and polishing them up for our trip!

Thanks for the website info. :)

all I know is I spent 20 bucks just to get every penny nickle and quarter press at the Penny Arcade on Main Street lol

I am doubting this but thought I would ask anyway. Are there any special holiday penny machines?

There was a special Nightmare Before Christmas pressed QUARTER machine in the gift shop that sells NBC stuff near the POTC exit. The machine is big and shaped like a traditional coffin. I think you put in 75 cents to make and 1 quarter that comes back pressed. My son got Ooogie Boogie and I think the other two were Jack Skellington and one that said "Nightmare Before Christmas".

1981 and earlier pennies are 95% copper. 1982 could be either almost all copper, or have a lot of zinc.

And they've had pressed "seasonal" nickels in the past, so I'd think they would this year, too? (The news page also says they word is that they will be back.)

EDIT: If you're a collector you'll definitely want the NBC quarters PHXScuba was talking about as well, as those are likely only onstage for a few months before they are pulled.

Thanks for the link. I will make sure to find all those when we are there in December.
