Pressed Coins

I understand most of the machines have been switched over to credit card use. Does anyone know if there are still manual coin operated machines? I'm going in June and would like to know if I have to still bring quarters and pennies with me.

I was there in January and only saw a couple credit card coin machine. The one I tried denied my card. 😂

Most of the ones we saw took either bills or credit cards. For the ones that took bills, you could get one for $1 or the lot of them for $5. Most of them supplied the penny as well.

I do believe there are still some “old style” ones, but they are few and far between.

(We hit up many during the trip to add to a pressed penny book for my daughter...)

Just curious, when did you last go? In January we hit up numerous quarter/penny operated machines (and 1 all quarters -$1.25- in AK by the train station). Interesting that they changed em all out the last couple months.

When we went in September there were still a lot of quarter/penny presses. Seems like I find the most at AK and hotel lobbies

This was last November.

We didn’t get to all of the machines, obviously. But most of the ones we did use were as stated above. I even came home with 2 rolls of quarters that went unused because of the lack of quarter operated machines.

I’m glad you were able to find some of the quarter ones. Maybe I will take some quarters for the next trip. But judging from our last experience, I will be taking mostly dollar bills.

Yeah, that is strange. We hit up several throughout the parks and nearly all were quarters. I think the only dollar bill one I remember was outside Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. I remember a couple credit card ones, one in or near Garden Grill and one other, but yeah my daughter was loving the quarter machines.

Anyone who has been there recently, are they still allowing these to be used? Wasn't sure with Covid and it being a touch point, etc. My daughter loves doing these so wasn't sure if we should pack the change or prepare her for them to be closed. Thanks for any info.

There is a post somewhere here that mentions that many machines have been converted to take credit cards, apparently that transition had started prior to the pandemic.

In any event they are open and if not converted will require your bag of change, and if converted will required a credit card.
