President's Week Car Rentals - WOW!

Sick of the cold and snow and playing around with a quick trip President's Week. Wow. They want over $700 for a compact.
I know they change frequently, but come on. That is a bit insane.
If I do an Orbitz flight+car package, I can get it down to $300s, but, of course, then I'm stuck if something good comes out.
Beggers can't be chooser, I know, but I've never seen car rentals this outrageous.
Who has done well and with whom?

I did well for my March spring break trip, but I booked it back on August 29th! The rates have skyrocketed and have not come back down.... rates are double or more what I got my rental for..... I check many times per week in hopes of getting a better rate and have concluded I probably got the best I am going to get!

You can try Budget with BCD X474200. This is a code from Travelocity that has been mentioned on these boards. You may also want to look into Dollar with CD #oi1054. You would need to get an Orlando Magicard for that one. Good luck!
