Presidential Election

Who do you think will win this years presidential election?

  • McCain

  • Obama

Results are only viewable after voting.
My mother keeps screaming at the TV when Obama gets ahead...(Which is regularly....) -_-

Yeah, my mom and dad are for McCain and my brother (who's 18) is for Obama.
So there's constant cheering/yelling going on.

How are your families? Do you all share the same political views or are you varied?

Not about the presidential election, but the Democrats are creeping ever closer towards a majority in the Senate.

My family will not discuss politics, but I do know they are for Obama and are democrats.

Democrats will get the Senate most likely.
just wondering, it says on CNN that if neither party gets 270 electors, the House of Representatives decides the president.
So, how can neither party get 270?

My household is *quite* fun. My dad tends to be more of a republican, and my mom tends to be more of a democrat.

They avoid it, but sometimes they get into some annoying bicker fights over ideas.

It is possible, though rare, to pull a 269-269 tie.

My family is really open about discussing poltics.
I don't understand why people avoid it. I mean, if you don't talk about politics, nothing will change. You have to face a little conflict to gain something every once in a while.

I didn't mean to offend anyone, it's just that people who refuse to openly talk about politics confuses me.

We are 100% Conservative Republicans.

I love talking about it, I love arguing with people.
My family just has always said "Never talk religion or politics"
My family doesn't like to get into unneccasary arguments.

Here at my home, my family and I are 100% Conservative Republicans.

I'm Obama, my brother is Obama.
My parents couldn't give a crap.
I don't know a single perosn round here that's for McCain.
A kid at my school was wearing an Obama shirt today.

It seems everyone is for Obama, but then you get the one random kid in clas who you would have thought was for Obama is all EW Obama I def. voted McCain today, while you have alot of older people that are strong for McCain.

My mother is a Democrat.
My father is a conservative Republican.
I am an Independant, with Democratic leanings.
My sister is too young to care.

I think it's good for me to have my parents with varying views that discuss it. The kids at school just go with whatever their parents say, and when asked to discuss that view they say, "Well, I don't know, I mean like- uh, ask my dad.. He has this whole thing where he talks about _____ (fill in blank with economy, taxes, etc)"
I don't think people should support a side blindly until they can defend their point without needing to consult someone else.
But there's plenty of time for that, now, at least 3 years.

I said how my parents were: I don't support any side individually. Honestly, I'm just going to go candidate by candidate. Parties do not determine what makes a good president. I think we should be united.

Its good to have your own opinion but alot of younger people are very inflenced by their parents, its not necessarily a bad thing, as long as they are open to both sides. My friends and parents both have completely different views and I am stuck in the middle, but I see both sides and understand them, although somewhat influenced by my parents, I undestand both sides as well to make my own decision. Alot of people will defend points using information others have told them.

I am that person.

We all took the test in school on "are you a dem. or rep.?" and i was the ONLY one in my class who was SUPER republican.

It wasnt obvious which was which.

It was pretty weird.

People didnt see it comin either.

I agree that it's not necessarily a bad thing to be influenced by parents or even just other people. I'm talking about young Americans who REFUSE to be open to anything other than what they've been told.

I'm encouraged to formulate my own opinion in my house. I'm really open to both sides, so far.
