I know that Universal stopped doing the preshows for the rides during Covid. My question is that pandemics aside, do they always do the preshows, or do they ever skip those if it's a light crowd day? Just something I wasn't clear on.

The preshows skip if it’s during a light period or sometimes when the preshow itself is down. Usually at rope drop there’s no preshow. Last month, we rode Hagrid’s five or six times during our trip and only got the preshow once. One of the skip times, a TM seemed to be working on it on the hallway outside the room and another TM came to help. The doors closed just after I passed that room, so we missed the preshow by about 30 seconds.

On our trip two weeks ago, our first ride of Hagrid's (rope drop), we completely bypassed the pre-show room. The next day (rope drop again), we went through the room, but it was in B mode. We also saw TMs working at a panel in the bypass hallway. When we got up there, we could see that there were video screens in there and they were watching some camera footage. No idea why.
