At the end of August a girlfriend & I decided to lean on each other and lose weight. We decided that we couldn't do it on our own and if we had someone to talk to, yell at when we cheated, etc. we would do better and stick with it. Now we've both lost around 25 pounds :cool1: and our goal is to maintain till New Years and then work on losing more. We are doing the Low Carb thing.

I want to get her something small for the holidays and wanted to relate it to our mission instead of just another giftbag. I have picked up some snacks for her but was trying to find a magnet or ornament diet related - cute or funny. I can't find anything!!! Guess its not a Hallmark moment.

Any ideas?

I don't know if this is a good idea... but my mom is kinda overweight, so I do know a very little bit about such things. What about a really cute (maybe even custom made) t-shirt that is one size smaller than the one she wears, for motivation? Sorry, I don't have first hand experience and this may be offensive; if it is I'm sorry. :guilty:

Not offended at all. I'm really thinking along the lines of keepsake type thing - plaque, doll, keychain, ornament, etc. but haven't really seen anything. Something that if she passes it at home or on her desk at work will make her smile, think of our goal, etc. She is a coworker, friend, diet buddy and I just wanted to give her a little something to tell her how much I appreciate having people like her in my life

I was going to suggest an ornament. Then I read that you had already thought of that. :teeth: Its hard this time of year b/c there are so many 'treat' gifts. Maybe a journal? Or an inspirational book? A cool water bottle? Gosh, all of a sudden I have tons of ideas. Good luck finding a gift for her. (and congrats of both of your weight loss! :thumbsup2 )
Just thougt of something. My mom is going to get her weight loss buddy a 1/2 bowl that she will paint herself at one of those pottery places.

You could get a make your own key chain and decorate to commemorate your achievement.

It doesn't necessarily have to be diet related, does it? I know in some of the Hallmark and other gift stores you can find motivational plaques, knick knacks, key chains, etc. that are more general "you can do it" than actual diet themed.
