6 months post op from open heart surgery, I'm assuming as long as I have my prescription meds in their original labeled containers I am all set to bring them in the parks with me, is this correct.

There are no rules about medications I am aware of. I only make sure I have original labeled bottles for going through TSA. Even then, I usually save the previous months bottles and only take what I need. I would not carry all my medications in their original bottles into the parks, only what you need to take for that day. I always think, what if I lose them, then what? I believe it's much safer to leave them in your resort, even locked up if you feel it's necessary, than risk needing to replace important meds on vacation.

My son takes meds for ADHD which are controlled drugs. I only take the number of pills he will need for the days we are gone plus a few more for emergency (loss, delays, etc...) He takes a time release pill each morning and can take a short acting one in the p.m. if needed. I only carry the p.m. dose with my into the parks. I usually just carry them in any empty small pill bottle I have....sometimes its a small bottle from the veterinary hospital I work at. LOL I've never in all my trips had medication searched at any park.

regards

I always put my meds for the day into a Ziploc baggie and carry them loosely in my pocket that way. Never have thought of that being an issue and have never had a problem

I bring meds into the park with me in a pill box never had an issue...

You don't need the original bottles. Disney security is not the DEA.
I carry multiple medications with me, including controlled meds.

I've never had a problem or even been asked about them.

OP, you should be fine. But I would only take what you need, rather than the entire bottle.

I fly regularly on business and visit parks regularly with Rx meds in a pill container. No one has ever asked to see anything and I doubt they ever will.

I agree with those saying take only what you need plus a couple of days buffer (you never know) and be sure to bring them in your carry on.

When we travel, my wife and I usually carry medications with us, a set in carry one and another in checked. Just in case one or the other goes on their own trip. We usually ever worry about having paperwork and original bottles when traveling internationally. But, as others have pointed out, we've not been asked about them domestically or internationally.
