We are a very hard-of-seeing family.

We already have prescription lenses in our masks, so that will not be an issue for swimming, but those are very difficult to wear above water.

Are sunglasses allowed during the dolphin swim portion?

Sorry if this has been covered. I did a search but with my prompts, just learned a lot about Cinderella's dessert.

I would say no. As was said by our trainer, whatever you bring into the water is considered a toy by the dolphins.

Thanks for the reply--that makes sense, even if it's not what I want to hear!

I was able to wear my prescription sunglasses when I did the dolphin swim 4 years ago. Has this now changed then? I was told that as long as they were a good fit (not loose) then it would be ok.

There were lots of people wearing prescription glasses at the same time so I would check with DC.

We were there on 6/6 and I wore my regular prescription glasses in with the dolphins. They said glasses were fine to wear.

Just a note for anyone who doesn't know - they do have prescription goggles for people to use - you have to ask for them. I used them in the tropical pool and they were great, but the rest of the day, I just wore my glasses.

Do you know how much these prescription goggles are. My DF is slightly short sighted and I very slightly but I would love to be able to see things from afar in detail when under the water.

The prescription goggle that they have for you to use are free to use. You just have to sign them out and if you don't return them, you will be charged $200. So, definitely don't leave them laying somewhere with your stuff. I put mine in my locker when I wasn't using them.

Several people wore glasses/sunglasses on their dolphin swims when we were there on 6/18. It didn't seem to be a problem, they did remind us not to bring in cameras, even waterproof as those seem to be a favorite playtoy for the dolphins. I want to go back!!!
