Hello, I have been reading any and all posts on the water parks but I cant find an answer to this....I wear perscription glasses all the time, will I be able to wear them on the water slides? I do have perscription sun glasses I can wear also. Or will I be asked to remove them????
This could determine whether or not I go to the water parks. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it!
TIA!

I don't know if this is the answer you want, but when we went to typhoon lagoon last Sunday I took DS's glasses off and stored them with our stuff until lunchtime. I also had my sunglasses on when I went on a slide and they asked me to hold them. Twice in the wavepool they got knocked off and I didn't even know it until someone found them and was waving them around to see whose they were. I would not take a chance with prescription glasses at all. DS (8) wears bifocals due to amblyopia and they cost me about $350!

I'm not sure if they make you take them off, but it's probably a good idea. I wear glasses (mostly contacts now) and I always took mine off. Even with River Siide (which is six flags new england) and Lake Compounds around where I live I took them off. With the contacts I leave them in. i know i'm shouldn't it, but it's so nice to see things. i just make sure I keep my eyes closed tight if I'm going underwater!! I'd take them off you don't want to loss your glasses on a water slide have somebody come down after you and smash your glasses. And for the rest of the trip you can't see. that would stink :) hope that helped. :)

I have prescription sunglasses, and my eyes are very sensitive to light (esp. that bright Florida sun). I have been to both BB and TL and left my glasses on - we purchased "croakies" right in the gift shop at BB - these are small fabric things that attach to the back of your glasses so if they do fall off, they are still around your neck. I've used them in the real ocean as well. You can also get them at stores that sell eyeglasses, and sometimes at places like Walmart, too. I keep my sunglasses on the croakie thing even in the park, so I don't worry about losing them.

I take my glasses off before any big slide and put them in the top of my bathing suit, btw my breasts ;)

Hey - that's my trick!

The croakies are a good idea, I use them too, they really work. I know we're all friends at Disney but when you start talking to your husband & it turns out to be a stranger because you can't see clear enough, well, I'll wear the croakies. Although I admit I don't do anything too wild at BB or TL so if you're hitting the water at a high speed, it might be best to keep your glasses off.

I have wrap around perscription sun glasses with croakies. I don't wear them in the pool, but I do like to wear them on water slides. I like to see wear I'm going :cool1: I wore them on crush 'n' gusher and didn't have a problem :thumbsup2

Thanks to those that replied! Lots of good ideas! I would like to be able to actually see the water parks and also where I am sliding to! I would be sick if I lost/broke them so thanks for the great ideas! I think I will be able to enjoy the water parks now!
