I just joined DVC a month or so ago, and am currently planning our family's first DVC vacation for next May. If we time our trips out properly, we'll get two trips per annual pass (about 12 to days total).

In looking at the pricing for annual passes, the difference between a premium and regular pass is $120 approx, and $100 approx for children. So for myself, my 10 year old son and twin 6 year old daughter it would be $440 extra.

As we'd probably only use the extra features one day per trip (to go to the water parks), it seems like a lot extra for little benefits.

Is there a cheaper way to go to the water parks and/or the Disney Quest?

Water Park tickets are currently $45 for ages 10+ and $39 for ages 3-9. DVC Members Receive a discount of $4 per person, ages 10 and older, and $3 per person, ages 3-9, on daily admission to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Unless you planned on going to the Water Parks more, getting a regular AP and buying single day water park tickets my be your best option. The discount for Disney Quest is the same as the Water Parks.
