We're heading to the GCH hotel in about 10 days and I'd like some input into which view to request in the Premium View" category. During our previous stay we had a Downtown Disney View, so this time we'd like to face California Adventure. I think I read that you can request a WOC view....is this true and how likely is this to be fulfilled? Do you actually have a reasonable view of the show? Any particular blocks of room numbers/floors to request? Many thanks!

I'm not sure about the WOC views. I thought the villas kind of blocked that view.

I just thought I'd mention that I prefer the wing that is over Napa Rose. There is a small elevator bank that serves that area and has its own little lobby right next door to Napa Rose. It's extremely convenient for getting anywhere in the hotel, DTD, or CA. You probably experienced the long walk you can have if you're in the DTD-view areas! I don't like the wings that require lots of walking just to get to the elevators. A plus is if you're going to the pool/spa, the small elevator lobby is a lot less conspicuous when you're in a swimsuit than the main lobby!

Premium view will put you on the upper levels, which I *think* are 4-6.

The villas do not block the view, but do have better WOC views than any hotel rooms. The OP might want to look at the VGC maps linked in my signature, which also include the hotel rooms with a WOC view.

I agree, the area of GCH near Napa Rose is the most convenient.

The elevators near VGC and hotel rooms with a WOC view have the most secluded access to the pools.

I like the rooms in the east wing. See my TR from 2010 here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2526004 for a view from room 5438.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Hydroguy--thanks for the link to your trip report complete with pictures. It turns out that I was there at the exact same time as you (last week of July 2010). It brought back so many good memories, as that was the trip that we brought my parents along. We wanted them to experience Disney with their grandkids and I'm so thankful we did because now my Dad is not well enough to do a trip like this.

My family and I stayed in a WOC color view room a few years ago. I don't think we requested it, we were just lucky enough to get one. Our view of the show was great and the even have the audio playing on the TV during the showtimes so that you can easily hear it. It was awesome, especially to not have to be with the crowd of people.

I'm here now and before I arrived i did call in to request a resort view. When I arrived they wanted to stick me in a pool or DTD view told them nope will wait for a resort view. Got a view of grizzly run on the 4th floor weee
