Premium Tickets/Water Parks n' More??

In the past we have just always added Park Hopping to our tickets. This year we are thinking of doing the Water Parks n' More. Want to make sure my math is correct here, because it seems like a good deal even to just check out one water park, Disney Quest & Pleasure Island...each place one time.

Right now we have 2 Adult 9 day park hoppers for $480
To add on the Water Parks n' More (6 visits each adult) the total would be $560...difference is $80. Ok, so when I went to the Disney site to see how much single day passes for a Water Park or Disney Quest it was $35 for one one adult. PI was $20.95 per adult for one visit.

Assuming we even just want to see what the water parks & Disney Quest is all about (been to PI), this seems like a good deal to pay $80 total for 6 visits, rather than $70 for us to visit one water park for one day.

Is my math correct? Do I understand the visits correctly? Do they give discounts to those who purchase the Premium Tickets vs. buying them at the park? Or does it work like the tickets I usually get...the longer you stay, the cheaper per day?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jen

You are looking at it correctly. You get a small discount on either the PH or the premium ticket when you purchase in advance of arriving in FL. They slightly lower the price of the base portion of the ticket when you buy them ahead.

You have already gotten the reduced advance price applied to your 9 day PH (those 9 day PH's would cost $248 each if you bought them while at WDW) so there would be no further discount by adding the WPF&M option. It's a straight $40 per ticket, thus the $80 difference.

And BTW, you do know that the prices you are quoting are without the tax added, right? So be sure to add 6.5% to everything to get the real cost.

Don't know if your dates are flexible but if you book by Mar.30 and visit between April 23-late June I believe... they will upgrade the base tickets to add the hopper and water parks and more FREE!! If this is not an option, you can get discounted tickets as well...there are several websites for them. I have bought premium tickets many times before and it is nice to know you can go wherever you want whenever you want. If you would like some of the websites for discounted tickets send a pm and I'll gladly forward them to you... we're going down for our wedding so I've spent a LOT of time researching all this for the best prices. If you are military, there are even better deals. You may want to do tickets plus dining if you're staying on property...

If I read correctly, the free water park fun add-on only applies to tickets that come with a resort package and provided the tickets are not modified after you check in. So, AFAIK, if you want non-expiration or 10 days for future use you need to order the tickets that way.

GoldenOldie-Thank you for confirming my math!! It just seems like I can justify spending the extra $80 (plus tax--thank you for letting me know that part) before we get there & know we can visit any of those places 6 times. Rather than getting there & deciding we want to visit one place for nearly the same price! I may do the upgrade!

Lindakmonty-Thank you for the info!! However, our dates aren't flexible (we're going in September for our anniversary), but the current deal (free upgrade to premium tickets) made me think if they offered the same thing in September would it be a good deal for us. We have the AAA discount for the room, so I wanted to see if we would save more w/AAA or w/the deal (assuming there's one & it's the same as the deal today). So that had me looking into the premium tickets. I also ordered the Vacation Planning DVD for my neice & my husband said...we should go to the water parks this year! So I thought I'd look into it. And yes, we are staying onsite & have the dining plan! We went last year & were able to take advantage of the free dining plan promo they did (MORE than a good deal vs. the AAA disct) and loved it. So this year, we're (OH NO!) paying for it!! :0) But it will still be a "deal"!! Gotta always love deals! Congrats on your wedding!

Again, thanks!
Jen
