Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

You'll have a great time with only the two of you. It's great to get away from the kids for a few days!

The Richard Petty is one per package (only one person gets to do this). Spa treatment is one per person--and if one person doesn't want theirs, the other person can take it from what I have heard.

You can take as many tours as you can fit in or do as many water sports as you want. I did the Premium Pkg and highly recommend the Personal Watercraft Tour. You jet ski around Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon and stop to hear interesting facts along the way. It was SOOO fun!

To decide if you want Premium or Platinum, look and see what the Platinum offers over the Premium (Victoria & Alberts, Dolphins in Depth, Epcot Seas Aqua Tour, Backstage Magic Tour, Spa Treatment, Richard Petty, etc.) and see what you are most interested in. Then decide.

It's lots of fun to do the planning--enjoy!

All three of us got to do the Richard Petty Experience during our last trip. There were 3 voucher cards for the ride-along experience in the package. Unless thing has changed since August, I do think this is one per person per package thing.:)

Hey, thanks for letting me know! Now I may have to change my plans as others have said it was one per pkg, not one per person. This is going to be fun. How did you like it?

Symans3honeybees - I remember you posting that the 3 of you got this, but quoting from the Platinum printed brochure:

Experience real life racing thrills by riding shotgun in a two-seat race car driven by a professional instructor as you experience a real simulated race qualifying run of 3 laps around the Walt Disney World Speedway.

The Richard Petty Ride-Along Experience may be redeemed by one person, per package stay. Reservations are not required.

Open to Guests ages 14 years and older; proof of is required. A parent or legal guardian must accompany Guests under age 18. Can be used as a credit toward a driving experience, but reservations are required for that: call 800-237-3889.

Since that is the OFFICIAL statement, I would plan on it being only one person per package and hope for the same 'pixie dust' Symans3honeybees got on their trip.

As for the Spa Treatments:

Rejuvenate your body and mind with a luxurious spa treatment. The Disney Platinum Plan includes one selected treatment per person at one of the following locations:
Disney’s Grand Floridian Spa & Health Club
The Spa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Zahanati Massage and Fitness Center
Disney’s BoardWalk Resort – Muscles and Bustles Health Club
Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Olympiad Fitness Center
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – La Vida Health Club
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – Sturdy Branches Health Club
Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts – Ship Shape Health Club

Each Guest 10 years of age or older may choose one (1) of the following treatments during their package stay:
• One 50-minute Swedish Massage
• One 50-minute Radiance Facial of choice
• One Spa Manicure and Pedicure Combination

Guests who wish to enjoy additional spa services will be charged the standard fees which will be handled separately. To make reservations at any of the above locations, please touch Spa, Health Club, or Fitness Center on your in-room phone. An accepted major credit card is required for booking. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time, as all appointments begin and end at the scheduled time. Changes and cancellations are required at least 4 hours prior to the appointment to avoid charges. Guests 10 to 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult, and an adult must be present during massage treatments. Gratuities are included.

Hope this helps.

if your on the disney dining plan can you change one day to the deluxe or platinum and then chage back to the regular plan ?

The simple answer is NO, you cannot since you are talking about 2 seperate plans - Disney Dining Plan and Premium or Platinum plans, Each requires its own booking and each has different rules and requirements.

DDP requires at least a 2-day Park Pass purchase. Premium/Platinum require at least a 1-day Park Pass purchase. NONE of the plans allow discounted room rates - all must be RACK RATE.

DDP can be purchased at any resort including DVC; Premium can be purchased at any resort (even Values) but not added to DVC bookings; Platinum can only be purchased for stays at DELUXE resorts.
--------------------------------------------
Here are some ways you could you add a Premuim plan to your current DDP ressie.

Example: You booked a 7-day stay at POP with DDP and want to make one of those days a Premium Plan. You have 2-3 options:

1-Leave 7-day DDP as is; ADD Premium Plan for 1-nite during that 7 day stay (yes, this gives you 2 rooms on the same night) - Total 7-day stay with 2-day PP and 1-day PP purchase required;

2-Break 7 day booking into 2 seperate ressies (1 & 5, 2 & 4, 3 & 3, etc.); ADD a Premium Plan in place of one night - Total 7 day stay with 2 purchases of a 2-day PP and a 1-day PP purchase (not a good use of Park Pass purchasing!);

3-Leave your 7 day DDP as is ADD the Premium to the first or last part of your stay and not dividing your DDP stay days - Total 8 to 9 day stay with 2-day PP and 1-day PP purchase required;

In any case, you will have to buy those minimu Park Passes for each package AND check-out/check-in when you go from one package to the other. Resorts can generally reference the bookings to each other - on your request at time of ressie AND confirm at time of original check-in - so you do not have to actually change rooms. Only if you do a Platinum while staying at anything other than a deluxe resort would a move be required.

However, you could stay the whole time where you are currently booked on DDP (all 7 days per the example above) and make a completely seperate 1-night Platinum Deluxe resort booking at REGULAR rates. You don't have to relocate and can leave you luggage at current resort, just 'check-in' at the Deluxe resort on the day of your package to get your KTTK for use through the following day until midnight.

Example: package begins on Thursday early morning and is usable through midnight Friday, allows 2 nights of activities, two days worth of tours and 3 meals (appitizer/entree/dessert/beverage even if all are at SIGNATURE dining locations) and 2 snacks per person stretched out over those 2 days, which is very easy to do.

For the package night, take a change of clothes and an overnight bag and spend that night in the Deluxe room, which is especially convenient if it at Poly, GF or Contemporary, with Wilderness Lodge being a decent location as well.

:cool1: Just booked out Anniversary trip for next year over Columbus Day weekend. So excited! POFQ w/ premium plan. Hoping to eat at the Flying Fish, California Grill, and then an Epcot lunch...maybe Le Cellier! I'm way too far out to book but that's what I'm thinking for now. Looking to do KTTK tour, and the Segway around the World Showcase, as well as Behind the Seeds, Parasailing and some crack-of-dawn golf lessons for DH.

Quick question: I know it has been mentioned somewhere, but regarding the La Nouba tickets (which I understand is actually some sort of voucher?)...is there any chance that you could be turned away for that evening's show when you go to the theater? Like, if I know we have to go on Friday, 10/7 at 9:00 in order to work this into our itinerary, is there any way to guarantee the seats as if we were buying the tickets? Is this making sense? Did I totally misunderstand how this works? Any help appreciated!

OH- another question- I can't find info online regarding what time the golf lessons are offered at, or what course they are at. Do they offer a shuttle to pick you up and bring you back to the resort? Do they have clubs that he can use for the lesson. they must, right? I'm hoping that DH can do this early enough to make it to the 9:30 Segway tour, which is the latest one. What do you guys think?

OH, one more question (i promise!) - who do I call to book the tours? Is it a 180-day window? Is there a toll-free number? Ok, that was 3 questions! Sorry!

TIA!

As for the GOLF question, this is from the Premium brochure:

The Walt Disney World® Resort has four 18-hole championship golf courses and one 9-hole, par 36, walking course, all designed by masters of the trade.

The Disney Premium Plan includes unlimited golf, lessons, green fees, electric cart, range balls, rental golf shoes and rental clubs per person. All golf club and golf shoe rentals require a photo ID.

Complimentary transportation is provided to and from select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels. Please see the valet desk or bell services to arrange pickup times.

Proper golf attire is required and golf shoes are recommended but not required. Tennis shoes with relatively flat sole designs or golf shoes with metal spike alternatives are permitted on the courses. A parent or legal guardian must accompany guests under 16. Please call 407-WDW-GOLF (407-939-4653) for all golf reservations and additional information.

Courses Available for Play:
*Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course – A classic country club setting winding through pines and vacation villas.
*Disney’s Osprey Ridge Golf Course – A masterpiece of scenic golf in a Florida nature preserve.
*Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course – Play where the brightest stars of the PGA TOUR have competed since 1971.
*Disney’s Palm Golf Course – A magical day in the Florida sun, among palm trees, tropical sand and sparkling lakes.
*Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course – A par 36, 9-hole walking course, perfect for a gentle warm-up, or a fun family outing.

Private Golf Lessons – Private 45-minute golf lessons from our PGA Professional Staff are available by appointment. Please call 407-WDW-GOLF (407-939-4653) for reservations.

You can only BOOK golf or lessons 90 days out, but they will answer a lot of questions for you at that number. NOTE: It will take approximately 4-4.5 hours to complete a round of golf so that is out. My DH loves golf, but opted NOT to do it on our Premium plan as golf is relatively affordable OFF plan and he wanted to do tours w/me.

YOUR QUESTIONS: I can't find info online regarding what time the golf lessons are offered at, or what course they are at. Do they offer a shuttle to pick you up and bring you back to the resort? Do they have clubs that he can use for the lesson. they must, right? I'm hoping that DH can do this early enough to make it to the 9:30 Segway tour, which is the latest one. What do you guys think?

Golf Lessons are every hour on the hour, but they ask that you be there 30-45 minutes ahead of time. Any clubhouse that has a Pro offers lessons (3 courses share a clubhouse - Magnolia/Palm/Oak Trail - all by Shades of Green, near GF).

As shown above, they provide clubs and shoes as needed. I believe they offer classes earlier, but we were told they begin booking at 10am. Call to see what they say - most of them are VERY helpful. These are not the regular desk CMs, they are people in the clubhouses.

As shown above, transportation is offered to select resorts at least for golf and probably for lessons. Call to arrange.

You could do the earliest Segway @ 7:30-9:30 (neat to enter a virtually empty Epcot) or the 9:00-11:00, followed by an 11:30 lunch at Coral Reef or Le Cellier. He could do his lesson AFTER this while you rest and refresh for your evening meal/La Nouba, etc.

We had to change resorts early the second morning so we did 9-11 Segway, headed to DS for rides and HBD lunch (SOOOO nice), then rested for 6pm La Nouba, 8:30 Jiko. There would definately have been time between an early (7:30-9:30) Segway and a later lunch (12:30 or 1pm) where he could work in a lesson. A lot depends on WHERE you stay and if you have a rental car (makes it much easier).

As for La Nouba, once you make a reservation and pick out seats, you are guaranteed those seats at that time - period. We have sat in various places - very close, half way up, and the VERY top dead center (102 KK) which was our favorite spot by far. We got to see everything without craning our neck. I had binocculars but really didn't need them unless you want to check faces for freckles.

Tours can be booked at 407-WDW-TOURS and I was booking mine in March for our September trip. The only toll-free number I know of is through the Travel Agent line - only usable by TAs though.

RESPONSES to quote:
Just booked out anniversary trip for next year over columbus day weekend. So excited! Pofq w/ premium plan. Hoping to eat at the flying fish, Mikkel is an excellent waiter california grill Edwardo was amazing, and then an epcot lunch...maybe le cellier! if you decide to try HBD, Tarik was one of the best young servers we had this last trip. He gave us each a glass of champagne for our celebration!

Looking to do kttk tour, book the earliest - 8am? They will last 4.5-5 hours and include lunch at columbia harbour house. Makes for a nice day, and plenty of time to rest after if you start early. Or, set your parasailing plans for right after this tour, rent a locker to store your swim items if needed, then you can walk or boat over to Contemporary from MK. and the segway around the world showcase, as well as behind the seeds, parasailing and some crack-of-dawn golf lessons for dh.

Quick question: I know it has been mentioned somewhere, but regarding the la nouba tickets (which i understand is actually some sort of voucher?)...is there any chance that you could be turned away for that evening's show when you go to the theater? NOPE they are guaranteed just as if you bought them. You will get vouchers upon check in on your premium plan day. Take these to the window for today's shows at la nouba at least 30-45 min pre-show where they will redeem them and give you admission tickets. If you sit in the top row, you can walk over to the elevator and ride directly up to the 3rd level.

Thanks for your responses. Regarding the golf, I remember reading that lessons were only offered in the morning somewhere. I will call the number & see about that as well as if they pick-up from POFQ.

I'm glad you clarified the La Nouba questions too. I had misunderstood what the voucher was...thinking you didn't get a set seat until arrival at the theater. Stupid me! Gotta find out how far in advance Cirque books now, along with the tours. All ears here I come!

thanks again for all the help. Love this thread!

I booked La Nouba and most of my tours on 3/18/10, and many of my dining ADRs 3/19/10 for our trip that began 9/9/2010. Yes, I did some tweaking and updating over the next couple of months, but everything was solid by June with only 2 changes after that.

Count out your 180 days and let the planning begin! :rotfl2:

If we do this again, we would book our entire stay at one location (probably Wyndham Bonnet Creek - we have friends who are owners and get GREAT RATES for WONDERFUL ROOMS), then book the pacakge for one night only.

That is a wonderful idea because you could book the one night at a Disney resort, but never have to leave Bonnet Creek. And it wouldn't be double booking because BC is not a Disney resort.

How does this sound?

Really thinking about doing the premium plan for one night next November 2011. Planning for right after thanksgiving.

Monday - check in one night premium package

Steam Train Tour 730 - 1030
CRT 1030
Backstage Safari Tour at AK 1pm - 4pm
Dinner at Citricos
Preferred Wishes Viewing

Tuesday - check in room only one night

Segway Tour at Fort Wildnerness 830 - 1030ish
grab lunch somewhere
Parasailing 1200
Bass Fishing 130pm - 3:30pm
Photoshoot (really optional for me)
Dinner at Cali grill
LaNouba at 9pm (if not too exhausted)

Wednesday - check in DVC resort for another 3 nights

Comments from the experts would be appreciated.

Also - I have read that it is possible to park at the contemporary for the train tour. Is this true. Planning to have a car to make this all work.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know if they would let you park at the Contemporary if you are not a resort guest there or don't have a valid dining reservation there. With your dates being so close to a major holiday they may be very restrictive on parking. What might be a good idea is to valet park there. Keep your receipt for the valet and you could valet at the Grand Floridian for your dinner at Citricos that night for free (except for tipping the valet, of course.)

Tuesday - no problem. You have valid reservations for parasailing, fishing and California Grill. Just let the guard know.

When we went for the Train tour in 2009 we were told to park in the CR! They will let you in. You have to be there by 7:15 am and not much is running then. They did not give a parking pass and we had lunch at LTT after the tour and then moved the car. I guess in total it was there for about 6 hours.

Hi guys.

OK, so in regard to the golf lessons: I called the number and got the scoop.

Lessons begin as early as 7:00 am and are 45 minutes long. So it is definitely feasible to do a lesson and then a 9:30 tour, even with transportation time. They don't book until you are inside a 90-day window, just FYI.

One thing I found out that was a bit of a surprise was regarding the club and shoe rental. They are not free and they are not cheap! The club rental is $55 for just the lesson, and the person who I spoke to wasn't sure of the shoe cost. But even if it was reasonable compared to the clubs, you are still looking at $75 or so just to borrow the stuff you need for the lesson. :scared1:

Not sure how this will effect our itinerary now. I know that DH would love the opportunity to have a lesson, but not sure if he'll wanna fork over the $$ after finding out what I spent on this little trip! :rotfl:

If anybody knows the cost of the shoe rental, please share!

Thanks!

First I must pay homage to the OP!!! :worship: WOW!!! You are my DIS HERO!! This trip is to celebrate my Mama's Birthday and it will be my "WELCOME BACK to WDW, ITS BEEN WAY TOO LONG" trip. :cool1: We will arrive at Wilderness Lodge CL with Deluxe Dining on Sunday 12/5-12/6. We have reservations out the ying yang!! During this leg we have ADR's at Crystal Palace, Tony's, Artist Point & Yachtsman's. *About $825 each worth of meals and activities for $220 each!! :dance3: We will use our 1 day ticket to upgrade for next years passes. We did choose to stay at GF and pay rack rate for convenience and we have never stayed there, so that was an extra cost that we could have avoided by staying in one of the cheaper deluxes. This trip is a once in a lifetime trip for us, so we are doing exactly what we want to do instead of trying to scrimp and save every step of the way like we normally do!

We will spend 12/8 - 12/11 at Saratoga Springs with Deluxe Dining!! (we rented points) We have ADR's at Cape May breakfast, HBD Fantasmic pkg, Tusker House Breakfast, Yak and Yeti, California Grill, Olivia's and WGP Cafe! We all have Florida Resident AP's!! We'll be returning in January for my brother and I to participate in the 5K!! Of course, that trip we'll be at Pop Century!!:rotfl:

Your itinerary sounds great! One thing -- If it is important for them to see you in the water make sure they request a table right up against the tank -- those are the only tables that even have a chance of being able to see the surface of the water -- and participants on the Aqua Seas tour are not allowed to dive down at all so you'd have to be able to see the surface to see the people. Does that make sense? I don't even think the booths on the lowest tier would give much a view of that so I would have them make it clear that they need to be right up against the tank -- and that's something that Coral Reef will not guarantee, but if you tell them you are willing to wait they may be able to accomodate you.

Honestly, I think the view of the tour participants would be much better from the observation area on the second floor of the Seas pavilion, so if they are going to Coral Reef mostly to see you, I'd just have them skip it. If they want to dine there too, well then that's a different story. :-)

One more thing, I'd be sure to confirm when the tour participants will be in the water (30 minute period) for some reason I seem to think when we did it it was before 2 pm.

I know I've been talking about doing the Platinum plan for awhile now, but we weren't ever sure if we could definitely do it. Well we finally decided we could for sure -- for our trip in 2 weeks.

I thought you guys might be interested to know that I booked ALL this with just over 2 weeks notice. Everything was my first choice on activity & time.

Nov. 10 Contemporary Garden Wing Platinum Plan -- 2 adults
9:45 am Dolphins in Depth
1 pm Coral Reef (still not sure if there is enough time here)
2:30 pm Parsailing
3 pm personal watercraft rental
7:30 pm Wishes Cruise
9:35 pm California Grill

Nov. 11
9:30 am Epcot Around the world Segway tour
lunch CS oop
12:30 Aqua Seas tour
4:45 Portrait session at Grand Floridian
7 pm Massages at Grand Floridian Spa
9 pm Victoria and Albert's

The plan is costing us approximately $375 per person once you factor in the added room cost and price of a 1-day ticket we wouldn't otherwise have purchased.

For that $375 we will be doing about $1150 worth of tours, activities and dining. (I did factor in tax, photopass cd, snacks, etc.)

Not bad!

That's a terrific itinerary!

Very similar to ours except we're doing the boat cruise and more water sports since we couldn't get the Segway or Dolphins in Depth and we're about 3 months out. Just make sure to have enough time to change between Aqua Seas and your Portrait session!

well, i just booked our second Premium package. Details are still sketchy but DH will be able to do his Segway tour and eat at the Yachtsman...that's all that matters. :)
