Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

I believe that if you don't activate or use the ticket, it doesn't expire.

That's what I thought! The CM I booked our premium night w/ said I'd have to use THAT ticket or it would expire within 14 days :confused3 Funny how the dis sometimes knows more than the CMs! :rolleyes1

Funny but I never trust an answer I don't like from one cm - I'll call back and ask another. :) I called last night for an ADR and I had realized all my ADRs weren't under the same phone number. The system has my phone number as one from 10 years ago or so. I asked her to change it and she said she couldn't. She apologized and seemed to know what she was doing but still I thought it was odd. I'll probably look into that again before Oct. It isn't a big deal but may cause headaches later!

I absolutely agree. Case in point, when making a one day platinum reservation, I realized I booked it on one of those rare Friday nights when La Nouba was dark. The CM told me they would give me gift cards in the amount of the tickets since the show was dark. This seemed wonderful, but deep down I felt like it seemed like it was too good to be true. I called later to make reservations for something else and was talking about that, and the CM told me they don't do that and would only offer a similar activity, not gift cards. So since I got two different answers on the phone, I sent an email and received a call from disney a few days later telling me the first CM was correct, they give gift cards. Never hurts to double check on something you think isn't right.

It would have been nice if they'd also answered via email, that way you would have it in writing.

I tried calling to get a one night premium dining plan and was told that because I had reservations thru Walt Disney Travel company I had to get two nights. The cost was so high that I wasn't going to be getting anything extra for that. I was only going to get 3 table service meals and I had to buy two tickets for Disney.
When I first called I was given a quote that would have only added a little over $300.00 to my package. Then I called back today and it was going to be over $1,000. Can't do that.

I did get all the ADR that I wanted. I think I will try and call back tomorrow night and see what I can do to add Premium without all the extra money.

What do you think? Anyone else have any problems like this?

I'd call back. I got a one night Premium Plan. I think that I saw on this thread where they were told they have to book two nights, but you don't. If they tell you this again, ask to speak with a supervisor.

I know for my family it was almost $1000. It is $179 (I think) x 4 = $716. I do consider that my cost but have to count the room plus one day tickets for 4 people. I don't really count the room because I would have spent that anyway and I planned to sell the tickets on ebay to get some of my money back. I wondered how people were getting it so cheap when they posted some of the numbers but assumed they had only two adults - which even then it is still more than $300 ($179 x 2 = $358 not including the room and tickets). I think maybe the first person didn't understand what you really wanted and the second person doesn't understand it is a separate reservation apart from your other. Call back and good luck!

I'll try again tonight and see what they say. I hope I can get one night, Even when the CM told me two night he still said that I only got 3 meals. I think he was a little confused.

Thanks everyone,

Sylvia: I'm sure sorry you are having such problems. Many of us booked earlier in the year and had no problem doing a 1-nite Premium Package.

What I am wondering is, since the change in pass purchases for free dining from the former 1-day to the now 2-day requirement, perhaps WDW has instituted that across-the-board?

It wouldn't come as a surprise since WDW is a 'for-profit' business. Seems every time we find a way to get a little more and pay a little less, that loop-hole closes rather quickly. But let's hope this isn't the case with the Premium package. :confused3

Leigha: I'm pretty sure, unless there has been a price increase, that Premium packages cost $169 per person, per day, not the $179 you are showing - at least that is all we paid for ours (booked in early April).

La Nouba on Premium is category 2 & 3, but not 1 and costs around $90 each. (Oops, just saw that is included above.) I'm not sure about dinner shows since we are not doing Spirit of Aloha or HDDR this year, but it is good to know about the category seating for our NEXT Premium visit!

Which seats have the best view out of Cat 2 & 3? (I'm assuming Cat 2, but I've heard mixed reviews on HOOP, where many think 3 is better than 2.) Thanks :goodvibes

Are you asking about seating for La Nouba or Hoop-de-do Review?

For La Nouba, since much of the act is in the air, generally anything about 1/2 way up is recommended.

On our very 1st visit we sat in 204, DD, 9 & 10 - great seats - dead center & half way up. Problem? Well, right in front of us is the lighting/sound control area for the show and I am easily distracted. I found myself gawking at all the lights and buttons on the board instead of the show. And, when the guys move around they sometimes block the view.

Since I am a bit 'stair' challenged in places that do not offer handrails (fear of falling kind of thing) I prefer sitting where it only takes a stair or two to get to my seat. For that reason in the past we sat in the front row of the second level, just off center in category 2 (206, AA, 1, 2, 3 & 4). The only thing I didn't like was that there is a handicap accessable area (104, H, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11) that can block the view partially depending on where wheelchairs are placed, but then I am pretty short so most anything blocks my view!:rotfl: The same thing applies on the other side (206, AA, 16, 17, 18 & 19)

This year we selected seats at the very top (204, second to last row KK - handicap is in LL, 20 & 21 ). This was suggested by an older CM who has seen the show many times and said he likes to take in everything and having a full view, though far away, suits him well. Also, in this location most of the 'air shows' are nearly at eye-level so there won't be much neck strain which suits me well. Advantage here is that I can enter the auditorium and go down only 2 steps to get to our seats.

As for HDDR, we have been seated on the floor in both cat 1 & 2 and found we actually prefer 2 since I don't like looking 'up' at everything. On our last trip we requested the balcony cat 3 (only one story up and YES they have handrails!). DSIL and I liked the location, but DH and DD said they felt rather 'left-out' since all the action is on the floor. Also, kids would need to sit next to the rail in the balcony for the best view.

So, I guess it depends if you like being in the middle of things  or more of a sit back and take it all in popcorn:: kind of person!

Thanks again, 2ofUs!!! Yes, I meant La Nouba. We've love HOOP & we are Cat.1 snobs. :snooty: :rotfl2:

Our seats at La Nouba are going to be:
203/GG 15,16,17,18,19,20
203/FF 16,17,18,19.20.21

Has anyone been in or near these seats??? The CM told me that these seats' views will be great. :confused3

They will be fine, great even. Pretty much ANYWHERE that isn't obstructed is good. The entertainers are all over (and above) the stage throughout the show. You are just stage-right of center and are up high enough to be able to see the 'air' events at nearly eye level - which is a good thing.

Personally, though sitting in the front lower sections might be interesting since you can see the performers up close, we rejected seats 1 & 2, row B, in 105. Don't particularly care to be looking up all the time and REALLY don't want to see some of those people that close!

From my posts above, you can see that I would rather view from afar. And, YES, I am one of those that sits in the farthest back row at the movie too! Arrived late to a movie once and had to sit 3 rows from the front :scared1:. I had head & neck aches for 2 days.

Thank you so much for your reassurance. :thumbsup2

Well after all the planing for the tours and finally getting a CM that will let us buy a one night only package we have decided that because the price difference between the cost of the tours and the package isn't very much , we are going to wait until next time to purchase. We will be upgrading our 10 day hopper pass to annual passes. This will allow us another trip next year. We will be using the bounce back offer if we can. We will then purchase a one night stay with the premium dining offer. I think this is the best way for us right now. We will also get to have two trips witin in year. YEA!!!

Thanks for everyone help,

My brother called today and reserved 1 night at the Grand Floridian in the middle of our stay with the platinum plan!:woohoo: We are so excited! We are planning to do the FW Segway tour (85), Spa Treatment(100), the portrait package(10), V & A's (125), Wishes fireworks cruise (25) Aqua Seas at Epcot(140), Fulton's(70) and Cirque(90) !!! Serious bang for the buck, even with the high cost of the Deluxe resort, the value far exceeds the cost. My calculations show that for the $220 each, we're getting about $800 worth of dining, services and tours!:dance3:

Here's our final (well, kinda final) plans....
11/18-11/25 Poly, garden view - Disney Dining plus
11/25-11/26 Poly, lagoon view - PREMIUM!!

Thur, 11/25 (Thanksgiving) Check-in
Early Golf Lessons, followed by Golf (beginner, but not walking course?)
2pm-Fulton's Crab House, then rest/get ready at resort
5pm-arrive for 6pm showing of La Nouba (Section 204, Row GG, aisle seats 1,2,3,4) :cool1:
8pm-WP Grand Cafe (Hoped Dining Rm was covered, but it's not....any other signature recommendations at/close to DTD????) Just hate to waste a premium dining credit on regular meal :confused3

Fri, 11/26 (Check-out day)
Early Poly photo session
Boating/Carriage rides after photos
Pony rides for kids at FW?
5pm-HOOP, Cat #1
DEPART our favorite place in the world :sad1:

By the way, what is the LATEST time they'll let us check out on 11/26? It would be nice if we could do it after our photo session. What's the EARLIEST we can check-in on 11/25? We're planning on playing golf early that day. Thanks for any help! :flower3:

If I were you, I'd do dinner at Fulton's instead of lunch. They're dinner menu is much better than the lunch menu (and a better value of a use of credit). For lunch I would probably do Kona café since you will be staying at the Poly or CRT lunch, since it is usually 2 credits, but on the plan it only counts as 1.

I've read that the latest they let you check out is 1pm and that's if you request it. You can always leave your bags with bell services and pick them up once you return. You can do the same when you check in. If your room isn't ready, leave your bags with bell services.

Thank you so much for your advice!!! Just got off the phone with Disney dining. I "flip-flopped" my WGP/Fulton's reservations. So, WGP is at 2pm & Fulton's is at 8:20pm. :cheer2:

I will DEFINITELY be requesting this then! If we have a photo session bright & early, we'll need to come back to the room to change into something a little more comfy for the day. Thanks! :flower3:
