Premium Magic Band Answers

I recently placed and order and mine included a new band that I had never seen either and everything was fine so here's hoping yours is as well. Mine processed and shipped so quickly that I thought for sure it was too good to be true.

Awesome! Fingers crossed! There was a bit of lag time between ordering and shipping (about a week I think) which is why I’m a little concerned.

This! Anytime I really like a MB like a few days ago the Grumpy one... there isnt any he likes. We have time for sure... but just hoping we can find two we like at the same time.
I wish they let you order separately. My wife and daughter liked ones on there and I got vetoed into waiting and ended up with a plain one...LOL

Quite a few new ones the last few days that I had not seen before. I was able to order the premium ones my 2 DGDs wanted. Looks the order went through, I got a confirmation.

We have a split stay (same resort) I assume that I need to order another set of bands for those reservations ( we have 2 rooms). Ordering all plain for that ressie. still close to 3 months until our trip, kind of hoping Disney might begin to include the new plain ones; I've love to get the mint green.

fingers crossed we get the premium ones.

MB's are attached to a person not a specific resort stay. So you could use the MB's you get for the first half of your resort stay for the second half. Any MB on you account that is listed as "active" will work. Even if you had a band from say 4 years ago it should always work at any touch point (near field) regardless of the age. However they do use a battery for ride photos/videos etc (far field) and after a while the battery dies. Only way to find that out is to go on a ride that takes your pic and see if it shows up on your account.

thanks. There is a thread here somewhere that says people have been unable to decline a second set of MB. seems like a waste, but may be no choice.

I noticed there was no place to decline them when I placed my order the other day. I have a split stay at the same resort coming up and have ordered the bands already, I got 3 specialities, the Galaxy Edge, the Descendants, the Minnie bow one, and one purple. I am going to wait a bit and see what becomes available for the second part of my stay.

We never declined the bands and one day plan on displaying our bands like this as we feel they make great souvenirs and it looks cool

A friend just texted me today and had the same issue the OP had of getting of a generic grey one arriving instead of the premium band he ordered for his upcoming trip. He was told the same thing, that the band had sold out and was told the same thing the OP was told about how to get another band. He ordered his bands Jan 2 and didn't get them until either this past Thur or Fri. Funny thing is the band he wanted and was told that sold out (Riveria Resort) was still listed for sale the day before I ordered mine which was Jan 27. Apparently Disney is lacking in inventory control.

received my order today, Got the 2 premium bands my 2 DGDs picked out. Those 2 are not available now.

Unfortunately you do.
Do you have to choose bands for all of your party at the same time?
Which sucks imo.
i have 13 people and at best there have been 2 at once anyone wants. Even in a typical party of say 4 it’s a joke that they force you to buy all at once.
just let me buy one or two now and others before the cut off date the. Send them all at once.
instead I’m prob just going with all free and Disney loses money, makes no sense from a business stand point

What would make the most sense would be to have a consistent inventory. But short of that, I understand why they want people to place only one order.

Given the volume of reservations, I don't think they have the space or the staff to store thousands (or potentially tens of thousands) of Magic Bands, and then add to each order over a period of days, weeks, or months as orders trickle in.

From a business perspective, it would probably cost them more to have staff filling and refilling partial orders over an extended period than they make on the upcharge. Not to mention the storage that would need to be built for all those boxes of partial orders, and the organizational system necessary to keep track of it all.
