We are arriving May 20, our first ever trip to the Fort. 34 ft camper, two slides. Knowing that it's only a request, which loop should we try to get into? We are bringing bikes, have a cart reserved for our "Fort" days. Just four of us, myself, husband, 15 year old twins, no .
Very excited about this first time

What did you book? Premium, preferred or (I hope not with a 34 footer) Full?

Don't mind me... I am an idiot. I just now saw the title is Premium... (Duh!)

We liked the 1400 loop. Close to the Movies/Sing-a-long, close to the meadows and the pool. Not too far to walk (if you need to) to the Settlement to catch the boat. All around pretty "Central"

Likewise, the 1000 loop is similar in a lot of ways. It's basically across the street from the Meadows Trading post which is also close to the other things mentioned.

Thanks
When I was reserving the golf cart, the bike barn cast member mentioned 600 and 700, any info on those?
I need to have my husband check out the map. He is the one maneuvering the camper

I don't have experience with those loops and the map isn't really going to help with the "Maneuvering". I will say that the 600 and 700 loops do NOT have a comfort station. The nearest ones are either the 800 loop or one shared between the 400 and 500 loop. Maybe an issue for you, maybe not. The 600 and 700 loops are also closer to the Settlement. I suspect, since you will have a Golf Cart, that being closer to the settlement will be less of an issue though.

Good to know about lack of comfort station. I'll let him know about your suggestions for 1000 and 1400. Appreciate input for someone who has been there!

The comfort Stations are very close to those loops though. Its not that far to walk.
We so ready to be back... We are waiting for fall. Its just way to hot there now.

For me it was less about the distance and more about capacity. The Comfort stations don't seem to bigger or smaller based on how many sites/loops seem to be using them. So (for the mens side anyway), there are 4 showers. 1 Handicap and 3 standard. 2 Toilets and 2 urinals. Last time we were there I was in the 500 loop. Went to use the CS and had to stand in line.

Additionally the Laundry is 4 Washers and 6 driers... So one CS for 4 loops can get a bit over extended.

More good info!
I'll use the shower in the camper as will my daughter, husband and son are all about the campground family facilities We hardly camp with full hook-ups so water use is always an issue.

We like 900 when we stay Premium. In the middle of the Fort, small loop, relatively shaded, has its own bus stop and Comfort Station, and is across the street from the Meadow TP so close to pool and campfire/movie area.

Be forewarned, everyone has their own favorite loop. But that's why I like 900.

I'll add it to the list:)
Realizing it's only a request, we will ask for one of these options. So I call the Fort directly about 5-7 days before arrival?

No don't call the Fort.

Call the normal Disney reservation number for rooms and ask them to add a request to your reservation for a particular loop. Do it at least 5 days before arrival because reservations download to the Fort a few days in advance and the Cast Members are good about trying to fulfill a request if they can (if there is a vacancy the day you arrive). Of course it's only a request not a guarantee.

900 is a small loop (maybe 35 sites) and is popular for the reasons I gave and one time I requested it, I didn't get it but got 1000 right next to it which was fine (see my signature). The Comfort Station is accessible to both 900 and 1000 and we were in like 1002 or 1003. The only bad thing about that was the trash truck came every morning at 500am (don't ask me how I know :rolleyes1) to empty the Meadow TP dumpsters. The driver every morning felt the need to shake the thing at the top of his truck lift and then drop it back down on the ground from about 2 feet. And there were two or three dumpsters.

But it's a great location. The only downside was when we went to the MK was to decide whether to wait for an internal bus or walk the half mile to the boat docks (flat). We drive to the other parks. But if we were to do Premiums again, I would request 900 for my needs.

Good luck with your choice.

PS - 900 is a Premium pet loop as well. Most owners are responsible with regards to daily walks and noise. Just thought I should let you know it is pet.

Thanks! I'm glad I asked about calling.

we like 700, don't use the CS, we have a shower, toilet and washer/dryer in the rig, close walk to the settlement. we use the old railroad for the dog walk, love it.
