...just curious. We have used Premiere Towncar for our past 4-5 trips. We think they are a "top notch" car service.

I haven't seen anything on these boards about this company lately so I thought I would check out websites of other car services. I was surprised to see that Premiere is still the least expensive (I checked out 3 other sites so far).

So what gives?:confused3 Anyone else use Premier? How did you find your car service?

I have used several different car services when at WDW. They all came with recommendations on various sites/boards. And, not one of them has been perfect each time. I have had varying service with each trip....drives me nutty.
There are many, many car services in Orlando....many more than we hear about here, on the DISboards. Yes, there seem to be some that are discussed more than others, but that doesn't mean they are the only 'good' companies out there. If you like your particular car service, then by all means, stick with them.

I've always used Murray Hill Transportation. A friend refered me, I used them and was happy, so I stuck with them. Never had any issues.

I would agree with Goofy4tink, if you like Premiere, stick with them.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

I don't see a Premiere Towncar listed as permitted to pick up at Orlando International Airport. Check the Vehicle-for-hire page set up on the Orlando International Airport web site.

  1. If you're happy with the service and with the price why switch?
  2. I can't think of any reason to do business with a company that doesn't have a permit with the airport.
  3. I don't know if that's a reason for you to look for another car service but I wouldn't switch to such a company.
  4. Ed is correct, not only isn't the company listed on the MCO website but the phone number doesn't show up. In other words the company isn't permitted under a different name.

The company doesn't have a permit to pickup passengers at MCO
http://www.orlandoairports.net/transport/vfh.htm

I searched that list against the companies phone number, on the chance the permit is listed under a different corporate name.

Granted this person says they have used them before, but at the bottom of that page it does have the infamous disclaimer....

So maybe they were in the past, and now arent listed due to something, but they could be legit again and the page hasnt been updated. Not saying one person or the other is right, but given the information RIGHT NOW, I guess they arent on the 'allowed' list.

Thanks Dburg30.....I'm a bit puzzled myself....as we have used them for the past 5 trips...and every trip was perfect and professional. We're already booked for this April, so I think we'll stay with them...but... I will keep checking that "list".;)

Thanks everyone for your help!!!!!

My question is why would you want to use a company that gets suspended from the airport. They are breaking rules and in some cases are not maintaining the insurance requirements that the airport requires. The reason for any suspension. I think the company is bogus, or a vendor subbing out rides to vehicles without any type of permit, as I have been around a long time and have not seen that car service either picking up or in the "Notice of Violation" meetings.

If you have rode with them many times you might check the front license plate to see the name of the permitted company. All vehicles permitted on Orando have to have their proper company name on that plate.

If I were the OP, just call them and ask them why they arent listed. If they say something like they dont need to be or anything like that, perhaps consider someone else. If they are under another name, well, it sounds like you should still be able to find them using the registered phone number or name or something. If they arent 'legit' and there is an accident or something like that you may be opening yourself up to issues if they dont have a proper insurance (granted I have NO idea how the registering of Vehicles for hire works, but I would guess the insurance or some bonding of some sort plays into it).

If someone is less then others, especially if it is a decent amount less, I would tend to start asking questions, more for your safety then any other reason.
