Premier Passport and advance FP+ reservations

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I guess I'm not good enough at search to find it.

We are considering purchasing the Premier Passport (WDW+DLR) for our upcoming August trip. This pass can only be purchased at the parks, so does this mean we will have no way to make FP+ reservations in advance?

A workaround I thought of was purchasing another ticket now, like the DVC Premium pass, so we can make our FP+ reservations, and then upgrading to the Premier when we arrive. Would that work? Would we risk losing our FP+ reservations when we upgraded? Or is there an easier way?

I had this happen to me. My 60-day window for FP+ reservations opened the first week in November. I bought a WDW annual pass for that. The second week in November, I was going to DLR. I took my confirmation e-mail with me. It took a reasonable amount of time for the DLR CM to figure out what to do (and many confirmations with the manager), but ultimately they upgraded my WDW AP to a Premier Passport.

None of my FP+ reservations was affected.

Side note: My MDE account still shows the WDW AP voucher, with an expiration of 2030. I wonder if I can use that voucher to make FP+ reservations after my Premier Passport expires and buy my tickets closer to my actual trip.

You shouldn't lose the reservations. You can even upgrade from a ticket.

Thank you both. The decision for now is between the WDW Premium and the Premier, so it seems to make sense to go ahead and get the WDW Premium, and then if we choose to, upgrade when we get to WDW.

Something similar happened to me as well. I ended up purchasing tickets from Undercover Tourist, using those to make FP+ reservations and then upgraded to the Premier AP once I got to WDW (and used the Undercover Tickets once to bridge the value). I was a little worried about the FP+ as well, but none of the FP+ reservations were lost and the AP worked fine at both parks.
