Ok, so I am hoping to get a Premier Pass when I go to DL in December but I remember reading about all the problems DL was having when they first came out. Are the problems fixed yet? Has anyone recently purchased a premier pass at disneyland? Do you go to the ticket booth to get it or somewhere else? I have read some info on it but a lot of it contradicted itself! Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I got a Premier Pass last month at DL. I had pre-purchased it online, which allowed me to print out a temporary ticket that got me through the gates. If you buy one at the ticket booth, they will also give you a temporary ticket. In either case you then need to go to an AP Processing Center to get the actual pass. I went to the one in DCA, inside Greetings from California, on the left not far inside the park, because the lines are always short to nonexistent, while the AP Processing Center in Disneyland often has major lines. I had no problems going right through the gates at both DL and WDW from then on.

I used my AP discount at Disneyland a lot. Every time I bought merchandise or a counter service meal, there was a slight delay while the CM figured out how to give me the discount. The Premier Passes do not scan into the system properly, so they either have to type in the pass number or hit the Club 33 button, which gives the same discount. Some knew that, most did not. The delays were never significant.

I did not use my pass for any discounts at WDW because I got a better dining discount with Tables in Wonderland and I didn't really buy any merchandise there. So I don't know if the same issue with discount processing delays applies there.

I didn't realize you could buy them on line now...when they first came out you could only buy them at the parks...at least that was what I read! Good to know about the processing center. Where is the one in DL now? It used to be in the bank building but I believe that is art and merchandise now, isn't it?

I just tried to go to the DL website to buy them but while all the other types of passes have a button to select to buy, the one for Premier pass did not! Hmmm, what am I doing wrong?

fyi, if you've had a DLR AP within the past 2 years they will have your photo on file and will print your AP at the ticket booths. that's how it worked for us last year, Jan 09 we activated our new AP's, our old ones had expired in July 08, they asked us at the booth if we had AP's within the past 2 years, we said yes, they printed them right there and we had no problems using them. Just so you know. I don't know if the Premier Pass is different but I imagine it's pretty much the same.

You can't buy the Premier on the DL website. It can only be bought at the DL ticket booth or the GR at WDW. I thought you can buy it online but it says that it can be bought in person at the ticket booth. Here is the link: Premier Passport

The DL AP center is at the Plaza Pavilion right across the street from the Plaza Inn. The Bank is now the art store and gallery.

Oops, I just realized - I bought a Deluxe pass online and then upgraded it when I got to the Processing Center. You may not be able to buy the Premier Pass online. Sorry about that!

Pretty sure it's different. It is on a special card and only a few outlets can issue them. I know at WDW there are only four locations (Guest Relations windows at the front of the parks) that can issue the Premier.

Disney does not make it easy to buy that pass!

The Premier is the same card type as the DL AP. Just the Premier doesn't have a picture on the card like the DL AP has. The Premier gets the same benefits as the Premium passes at both resorts.

You are right that you can purchase the Premier at the four GR at the parks entrance, but you also could get it at DTD in WDW. DL has the ticket booths where you could purchase the Premier and you can also upgrade to the Premier at the AP Centers.

The price is really high, but if you at least 3+ trips at DL or WDW, it does pay for the whole thing.

No, what I mean is that it's special card stock that is printed with Premier Pass, and not all Disney ticket sales locations have that stock. None of the WDW booths can issue it. Maybe the DL ticket booths can, but I don't think so.

If you would normally buy a Premium AP on one coast and you will also need at least a 3-Day Hopper on the other coast during that same year, the Premier Pass is a better deal.

I see what you're saying....so the Premier Pass isn't printed on plastic? Our DL AP's were printed on plastic......it was a "bendy" type of plastic but still plastic and harder to break when bent.

The Premier pass is thicker than the regular DL AP. I can easily bend the regular DL AP, but the Premier pass is more like a credit card type.

It is plastic. You buy it at the ticket booths between DCA and DL, and they give you a voucher so you can get into the parks. Then you take it to a processing center (either DCA or DL), and the take all your info and give you the pass... its the same plastic card as the others (actually, I think it might be a little thicker but that could just be me :rotfl:), except its pretty sparkly gold and doesn't have your picture.

Oh, and the other poster was correct... if you've recently had a pass they can associate the old picture with it.

Anyway, I got mine at DCA, as did three other family members and two close friends. None of us have ever had any problems including entrance, fastpasses, and discounts (except once, a lady at the Hungry Bear Restaurant had trouble with a discount, so gave us the employee discount. Which turned out was a higher percentage :thumbsup2).

The main issue I have is that I can't get access to the WDW annual passholder website. This isn't a huge deal since I can check for discounts on here. I get into DL's fine so I think it might just be that I haven't used it at WDW yet.

Oh, and tomorrow will be my 7th trip to DL since upgrading, so definitely no problems :cool2:

I had a similar problem accessing the WDW passholder website for awhile and I put in the code on the top left side of the Premier (The TR part). When I put the last four digits on the TR code of the Premier it wouldn't let me and kept saying to put in the right code. Someone on the boards says to put the last five digits on the TR to the end of code. When I put it in, it got me in the passholder website. I was kind of surprise that it has problems to access the WDW passholder website.

There are more than 4 locations at WDW. You can buy it at Guest Relations at DTD at WDW too :thumbsup2

It worked! Thank you!! I had read that someone else could only get in using the middle four, but that it had the expiration date wrong. I did this and got in, but it had said my pass was expired... I just figured the system thought it was too long past the expiration date now. Anyway, now it has the right date and I'm in... thanks so much :goodvibes

Unless something has changed recently, the Premier AP good at DL and WDW can only be issued at GR at the front of each park at WDW. They only have 4 printers at WDW that will print this ticket and that's where they are. You can also go to GR inside AK and HS, but only because those are connected backstage with the GR at the front of those parks.

You cannot buy it (or upgrade to it) at the IG at Epcot or at DtD in WDW.

As noted in prior posts, you can also buy it at DL.

You can buy (or upgrade to) APs good only at WDW at more than these 4 locations, including the IG at Epcot or at DtD (andpossibly even BB and TL). -- Suzanne

Ok so it's still plastic, just a bit more durable. :) Oh and it was me that said they had your photo on file if it's been within 2 years. :) I wasn't sure about the photo, do the Premier Passes have a photo? I thought I'd heard that if you got the Premier at DL then yes, it had a photo but if you got it at WDW then no it didn't. But I could be misremembering, I do that. lol

If it's issued at DL they associate it with your photo, but the photo is not printed on the pass. The gate CMs can see your photo on their little screen.
