tl;dr version - Just wondering what the average amount of days spent in WDW and DL has to be to make a Premier pass worth it? Anyone know roughly?

Long version -
We have a DL trip planned for February - 5 days
I will be down in FL with the kids for 2-3 weeks before we take the WBPC cruise from Miami to San Diego. We will have 3-4 days after that in DL.

I would like to get a Christmas trip in there and possibly another trip in February before our APs expire, and I could take the kids down to FL by myself for another trip in Sept. without DH but it would have to be FL because I have family there and they could help out. I would maximize days if I had the Premier passes, obviously. Least amount of park days would be in the 8-10 day range for this set.

Worth it to get the Premier APs or just get the DL APs? If I got only the DL APs, we would just spend more time at the beach in FL and go to DL for the Christmas trip.

Well, this is what I could find on pricing. It is probably accurate as the site I use is reliable; however, you should double check just in case.

AP - $675.21
7-day ticket with park hopping & no expiration - $675.21 (no water parks)
6-day ticket with park hopping & no expiration with water parks - $649.65

Remember you can receive a 10% discount with the AP for some food and shopping.

Oh, I'm talking about the Premier pass that allows access for both WDW and DL. It's like $1029 pre tax? The Disneyland AP would set us back ~$519 each but with blockout days on a lot of Saturdays (which is some of the only times DH can come due to limited vacation days). So the unlimited DL AP is ~$699.

The only thing with that is that for an extra ~$350ish, I can get the Premier pass which would allow access to both parks. I will already be in FL but wasn't planning on going to WDW (though we will be in Orlando and I didn't have much planned for the days - we were going to see my family but they do work during the day, so having the AP to hit the parks would work well).

I also am not super impressed with FP+. We had a trip planned for WDW for this coming November but I canceled it due to the FP+ stuff. So there's that.

I could definitely get my money's worth out of the Premier AP, but that's a lot of Disney in one year! Also, my youngest won't be 3 until Feb 2016 so this is the last year he would be free. Premier passes for the 4 of us would set us back over 4k though and that is why I want to make sure that it's worth it, or I will just get the DL APs and make do.

One thing to consider is your dates. I had trips to both WDW and DL in 2012 & 2013.

April 2012- WDW
Sept 2012 - DL
March 2013 - WDW
August 2013 - DL

I was thinking about a Premier but I decided to go with 2 separate AP's because of the expiration dates. If I would have got a Premier, it would have expired in April 2013 and would not cover my August 2013 DL. So by getting separate, my WDW expired in April 2013 and my DL expired in September 2013, thereby covering all 4 trips.

Ok, stream of consciousness a bit here -

That's a great point! We have trips currently planned for Feb 2015 (DL), May 2015 (WDW possibly and DL definitely) right now. I was considering Sept 2015 (WDW) and Nov 2015 (WDW or DL) and Feb 2016 (DL). My youngest turns 3 in Feb 2016 so I'm trying to avoid having to pay for a ticket for him.

Right now, 2 APs is going to run a lot more than the Premier and I'm also not so in love with the WDW FP+ so I'm trying to prioritize DL over WDW (also for the ease of everything with young kids at DL).

I could do a DL deluxe AP (~$519) and do Feb 2015, May 2015, Nov 2015 and Feb 2016, but there would be a blockout day for the Fri-Sun we would be there in May, and we also would be blocked out over Thanksgiving (we could go earlier in the month or in Dec, but it would use more vacation days).

Going to the Premium DL AP would be $699 ea with no blockout days, but at that point, I think it would be more cost effective to just get the Premier and utilize it in May when I am there with the kids for an extended time. We would be there to see family and a lot of them work during the day so we could hang at the water parks or whatnot until evening.

The cost is just killing me though! It would be over 4k!
