Prelude to a WDW Dream...Sept. 08 *NEW 9/9 Post 350*

I am sorry guys. I have been busy as a bee. Dh and I leave for St. Martin tomorrow and I still have a million and one things to do. I have been guilty of visiting boards for that vacation destination lately. ;) That is why I have been MIA. Well, that and four little ones. :rotfl: They sometimes keep me a tad bit busy.:lmao:

Upon my return next week, I will once again kick my Disney planning back into high gear. Sorry for the lull in planning. And thank you all for sticking in!

STILL no word from the planners on the estimated costs of those ideas or the menu. I hope to come home to some more information to share. That and start working on plans for the rest of the vacation!!

TO BE CONTINUED...

Have a great trip! That's so funny about you visiting other forums, I've done the same thing and I always feel so guilty. Like I'm cheating or something! :rotfl2:

Hey Jay...I sure hope you are having a WONDERFUL time on vacation!!! I am sure you are missing your four sweeties but just think about your next trip...the one with them to WDW!!! YEAH!!!

Hi Jay, I'm posting this question looking out at a very dull day in Scotland and knowing that you're sunning yourself in St Martin and I'm so envious. Hope you've had a fantastic relaxing holiday and come back ready to throw yourself into planning your WDW extraviganza.

Okay enough rambling, on your last trip to the World you stayed at the AKL and when I've been looking at different pages re AKL accommodation it says that the rooms only accommodate four, is this just the standard rooms as I remember you stayed concierge? Next year we will need a room for five as either Becci's BFF will be coming with us or her family will be coming along, which ever way we're looking for options that will accommodate a family of five and I thought you'd be the very lady to ask. Your help when you've got a spare minute to answer would be much appreciated:love: Take care..Kirsteen

Not Jay, but will answer your question. All the deluxe rooms for five people at the AKL have been converted to DVC. There are only standard size rooms now which will only accommodate four. Check out the thread below. I sure someone will explain how to book a DVC room which will hold more than four.

We are now home safely. Well, not literally home. But we are safely back in the U.S.A. ;) Upon our return we had just a few days at home before we got some not so great news. BOTH of my dh's grandmothers are doing very poorly.

His paternal gradma is 96 years old and the hospice nurse has been called. It's not unexpected (obvious because of the age) but it is also never an easy thing. She and I really clicked when dh and I started 15 years ago. For those 15 years she has been my grandmother just as much as his. She has been a huge blessing in my life. Both of us are really struggling with finding a way to cope with watching her struggle right now.

His maternal grandma is in the ICU with unexpected pnemonia and has been given a 50% chance of pulling through. She is "only" 79. Her illness was very unexpected.

Needless to say, we are in the middle of an unplanned trip back to dh's childhood home (where both dear women currently reside). I was hoping that any of you who believe in the power or prayers, good thoughts or pixie dust might send some this way.

We plan on spending another few days here and then we are heading back home. I promise a trip planning update by this week's end. I am in serious need of some Disney planning to help me get over the "I had to leave my vacation blues" and especially to help me forget (if only for a few minutes) the stress of two women I love being very ill.

Thanks in advance and I am very sorry for being so :offtopic: .:grouphug:

So sorry to hear about both grandmothers. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Jay, prayers coming your way for the two lovely ladies (who must be lovely since you love them so much) and for you and DH. It never matters when it comes, it is always unexpected and terribly sad. Prayers do not stop!

Oh Jay, I am so sorry to hear this. I believe in the power of prayer and I will definitely be praying for both grandmothers, as well as for you and your DH.
