Prelude to a WDW Dream...Sept. 08 *NEW 9/9 Post 350*

Okay Day 5 seems absolutely unbelievable!!! :worship: This is how I have become so hooked on your reports.....you simply know how to vacation the right way!:thumbsup2 By the way, my husband thinks I've lost it reading about another family's vacation. He doesn't "get it". :rotfl2:

P.S. Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm a dork and was nervous about posting, but I see how warm and welcoming everyone is.

Awesome, simply awesome!! Your boys will flip out! Please post pictures of their faces...I can only imagine what they will look like! What a fantastic dream - and leave it up to Disney to make these kinds of dreams come true! :thumbsup2

wow, Wow, WOW!!!! I love this idea! It sounds so awesome! I would love to be a fly on the wall to see it all happen! I hope you get Captain Jack! He just appeals to everyone! Do take lots of pictures whatever you end up doing. I'm thinking that you just might need to become a Disney event planner when your boys are all grown and you have time on your hands! :goodvibes This day will be fun to watch over time to see how it shapes up. Keep planning , this is great! :cheer2:

JAY!!!! HIYA

I was reading through trippies and pre-trippies and found your's......:goodvibes:

The boys are adorable and the new babe is such a PRINCE!!!

We have stayed many times at WL.

In Nov of 2001, after my DH safely made it out of the World Trade Center but suffering from serious depression (he lost 70 co-workers from the PA NY/NJ) I decided we needed WDW. Called, booked the WL and we went Xmas week. Upon arrival into WL, DH was tending to the luggage and I was checking in with my younger DS. CM asks how we are and youngest DS says to CM, we have come to WDW in hopes of my Dad feeling better....CM asks why and DS tells CM that he made it safely out of the Towers...CM looks at me and DS and then over to DH and older DS just aweing the Christmas decorations all over the WL lobby and says to us "UPGRADE"....your family has been UPGRADED to Concierge level!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was truly one of the best times we have had at WDW. I will say the boys broke our bank with those jet ski's out in the WL Lagoon as they were on those more than actually at the Parks!!

Anyway, I am subscribing!!!! :woohoo:

WOW JAY...I'm practically speachless(which is pretty near impossible for me). I didn't know thing like this could be done. Is there any way you could post the price list (not that I'll ever be able to afford it but out of interest) This day is going to be one you all will remember all your lives:cloud9: I'm so happy for you:goodvibes

Two words, Jay.........

YOU ROCK!!!!
I have NO CLUE how you even come up with these ideas!!! (OK - I have a bit of a clue) But WOW!!!!

If this works out the way you want it to, you will be........................ The Best Mom In The WHOLE WORLD!!!!!

I really hope this comes together for you. I can't wait until you get back so we can hear all about it!!! :upsidedow

Jay! That sounds soooooo fabulous!! I am already salivating for the pictures!! :lmao:

You are spoiling us knowing we will have something so amazing to look forward to!!

:thumbsup2 WOW Jay that sound over the top fantastic. I hope you get that perfect day. I cant wait to see the pics and read all about it. You are such a great planner and mommy to do all this for your family.
I figure it will be one of those "once in a life" type of days. I hope it all comes together the way I am dreaming it. I guess a big step will be the proposals I am supposed to get via email tomorrow. I am antsy with anticipation!!

You are so not a dork! When I first found the DIS, I lurked for a full year because I was nervous about posting. As you can see by my post count, I got over that quickly!:lmao: Either that or I am just a big mouth.:confused3 :rotfl2:

My husband thinks everything to do with the DIS means I have lost it. He does however appreciate the way our vacations flow more smoothly then if I had never found the DIS. The DIS is a gold mine!!

I don't know if I know any better how to vacation then the next person, I am just so addicted to Disney that I cannot find a way to make myself pass up just about ANY Disney opportunity. :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I will be sure to post tons of pictures. I am sure my little fingers will be beyond tired from all of the picture snapping that I will feel the need to do! ;)

I am hoping for the good Captain myself. At least at this point. I reserve the right to change my obsession. :rotfl: BUT, I think he would be a very hard to beat amazing character to have one on one time with.

KAR!! It's great to see you. Thanks for the kind words about the boys. I think we might just keep them. ;) What a sweet story about the upgrade at check in! I bet that just made you all beam.

I think that dh will be very happy to hear that you can rent jet skis there!

Ha ha ha. Tell my boys that best mom thing. Today was beautiful outside and I made them waste a whole hour of that sunny day cleaning. :lmao: The way I dream this stuff up is by spending WAY too much time thinking about going back to WDW!

Jay! That sounds soooooo fabulous!! I am already salivating for the pictures!! :lmao:

You are spoiling us knowing we will have something so amazing to look forward to!!

HA HA HA I am the one who is spoiled, I have wonderful DISers who are willing to listen to my madness during it's formation, help me hash out the details and then are sweet enough to let me relive it with them!:wizard: That truly is priceless! I hope you are feeling better!

A full day of fun at the Magic Kingdom. I am so excited to share MK with our very own Little Prince. I cannot wait to see his eyes grow round as saucers as we float down the water on IaSW or see him giggle as we bounce with Tigger on the Pooh ride or see his smile break out as we stop to play at Donald's Boat! So many firsts. So many moments I cannot wait to experience with him. Let's just pray he will not be teething, scared of everyone/everything or something of a crab in the heat. That would be just my luck! ;) No matter what, I know we can and will find things that bring a smile to his face. I am making that my goal for this day of our vacation. To focus on making our littlest vacationer the happiest little prince in the world!:lovestruc :goodvibes

Lunch today will be at LTT...no characters at lunch, but the menu looks good and the boys will surely allow us one non character meal. ;)

Dinner will be at CRT. I know, I know...more of me dragging a bunch of boys into the castle. But I swear, it's not torture for them. They actually like it. And, even if I were the only one, a girl has to have something girly every now and again...even if she lives with FIVE...count 'um FIVE...men! :thumbsup2

I am thinking we might head back after our dinner and enjoy an evening relaxing at the resort.

There you have the plans for day six. :upsidedow

This brought tears to my eyes. My youngest brother will be turning 16 in June (we're 10.5 years apart), and it amazes me how fast he's growing up. It seems like yesterday that I walked into my mother's hospital room and laid eyes on him for the first time. I remember sitting in the living room with my other brother and watching the baby laugh for the first time as he rolled himself over. I remember rocking him to sleep as I read him his favorite books (we are a HUGE reading-livng family; we have literally NEVER given away any books at all). Now, he's the tallest in the family, he's almost ready to drive, and in 2 years he'll be graduating from high school. He'll be moving far away, getting married...it could make a person sad, especially a big sister who thinks of him like her own "baby"! He's still my boy, though, who likes head rubs and hugs, and I'll always be there for him  .

I like that you put so much importance on family and relaxing and having fun! That's why we go on vacation; to spoil ourselves and take ourselves away from the daily grind. My father (retired now) was in a very stressful profession, and I can remember seeing the stress melt away when we went to WDW. Your Day 5 seems like the perfect event; it will most definitely be one that your boys will remember for a long time to come! I look forward to hearing about your plans!

I'm glad to hear that! I've already decided that since my mom is going on our next trip she needs to eat in the castle (I've never eaten there either - so it's for me too). The boys will complain - until I tell them they get swords. Then they will be ecstatic. :rolleyes1

Day six sounds great! :)

I am soo loving the plans for day 5. Oh to be a little bug to follow you all around that day. How fun!!!:)

It so great to be able to read your ideas and planning. It makes me feel normal. I can tell my DH there really are other people out there that plan and think about Disney trips all the time too. ;)

Sounds like a great trip so far Jay! What are your dates? I'll be there Sept 14-20th it would be so cool to run into the famous Jaycns family!

Jay have been a dedicated reader to your trippies. You are so very talented in more than one way! Raising a wonderful family, a perfectionist when coming to planning a WDW stay, and I can just go on and on.... So glad to read your plans to bring your newborn prince for his first time visit...you'll have a BLAST!!! Day5 sounds just OUTTA this WORLD!!! I never knew one can do this type of planning with disney. Need your help on something....how do you try to plan an "EVENT" with disney. Also, can you pls provide the sweet 16 link you mention from one of the old trippies you were following. Is there a thread I am missing for Event Planning? Thanks and still waiting to hear more planning tips from ya. ;)

That is an awesome story Kar! I love the "Lodge" too. Jay you probably won't like it as much as AKL since that is the home of your heart, but I know you will have a wonderful time. It was built by the same architect as AKV and has the same incredible theming and tranquility. I just feel so much at peace when I am there!

Hi there, Jay! I am SkyGirl's daughter and just recently made an account on the Dis after lurking for over a year now :rotfl2: I have enjoyed reading all of your Disney adventures through you and your wonderful family's eyes, and can't wait for you to take the newest little guy on his very first trip!

So far, your plans sound great! :goodvibes Day 5 sounds awesome! Can't wait to read more, I'm really enjoying it.

HOW SWEET of a sister are you!! I hope that Aladdin and the Little Prince always share the same kind of special connection. Well, I mean I hope they all do, but Aladdin is always helping out with the Little Prince and is often heard requesting time to hold his littlest brother. I love watching the four of them together. There is nothing quite so satisfying as watching all of your children enjoying each other's company. :cloud9:

I'm glad to hear that! I've already decided that since my mom is going on our next trip she needs to eat in the castle (I've never eaten there either - so it's for me too). The boys will complain - until I tell them they get swords. Then they will be ecstatic. :rolleyes1

Those swords do make having to deal with sweet princesses a bit more palatable for little boys. :lmao: Give a boy a sword and he can do just about anything.:rotfl:

I am loving planning for day five. Today was the day I finally got some of the info back. I am excited to get down to the nitty gritty of planning.

Sounds like a great trip so far Jay! What are your dates? I'll be there Sept 14-20th it would be so cool to run into the famous Jaycns family!
We will overlap by 1/2 of a day! We are arriving the afternoon of your last day.

I just asked the concierge planners to put me in touch with the right people and they had a lady from the Grand Floridian contact me. I think the key to planning something is you have to contact a convention resort and ask for their event planner. My DIS search feature is currently not working. The DISer who had the sweet 16 party is Brier_Rose . At least I am 98% sure that is her user ID. The trip took place within the past year.

I have found as lot of ideas over on the bridal planning board. The bridal luncheons, rehearsal dinners and even some of the smaller receptions could be "revamped" into a sweet sixteen, luncheon for a perfect day (:cloud9: ) or just about any other small party reason.

Ahhh...I am planning on loving WL! Although I do admit, I will also be missing AKL and the CR. But I am hoping to find another "must go again" resort for our family. So far our top three are AKL, CR and the GF. All three are wonderful in their own ways. I am hoping to add WL to that list for it's own unique reasons. :thumbsup2 But you are so very right...AKL is the home of my heart!:lovestruc

OH MY GOSH. We will NOT be having Capt. Jack pay us a visit. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :sad2: pirate: Let me just say that Capt. Jack has very specific rules for his appearances. To provide for all of those "rules" we would be required to have our event indoors (he does not appear out in the open) and we would have to theme the area to make it suitable for him (ie fortress, treasure chests, greens, island backgrounds, ships, etc). The cost for him to appear and to create an approved area for his visit would be THOUSANDS of dollars. Let's just say you could count it on one hand...but barely. :scared1:

So...Capt. Jack is off of our radar. Sniff sniff. I guess I will just have to make sure we meet up with him again on the Magic.pirate: That worked out well last time we cruised. So that will be our Capt. Jack time this vacation.pirate:

With Capt. Jack off of the agenda it is time to focus on other characters. Maybe Pirate Mickey. Stitch. Pirate Goofy. Pluto. Peter Pan. Aladdin. Indiana Jones (from the Hollywood Studios stunt show). I am not sure who else. All of those characters (with the exception of Indiana Jones maybe) ARE available and within our budget.

Also we are debating having a balloon artist, caricature artist, tattoo artist (temp. of course:laughing: ), magician, juggler or pirate comedian/actor. Those were on the list.

I am going to inquire about having the candy artist Miyuki or a silhouette cutter artist there. Any other ideas? I am going to steer away from anything musical. I don't want to have a constant stream of visitors and have to explain to them every five minutes that it is a private party...so I figure better to do something that attracts less attention then to have to be put into what could be an uncomfortable situation if others start to crowd around the musicians and we have to ask them to leave so that we can see the entertainment while we are sitting and eating... I hope that doesn't sound mean. I wouldn't mind somebody sitting on the beach away from our group enjoying things...I just don't want to foot the bill for someone else to have front row seats at a private concert while our group has to sit behind them or ask them to move so we can see.

I have no idea what our eventual entertainment will be. Character? A performer? I just have no idea...

Well, I was going to type more but I just looked down at the time!!:scared1: I will update more tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!:grouphug:

OMG who's ever heard of a high maintenance Pirate, sounds like with all the hype Capt Jack's got in contact with his inner JoLo :scared1: . Such a pity but I'm sure who ever you pick from that list would be sensational, my DNeph10 is obsessed with Indiana Jones but I know he would expect loads of stunts so unless Indy does some seriously special interaction he may end up being a bit of a let down for the wee chaps (just a thought).

I think your totaly right about the musicians, you are paying for a private family party and that's what you should have.

Good luck on the decisions honey and keep us updated it's so interesting:cloud9:

WELCOME! I have loved reading about your last Disney trip!! Your mom's trip report is one of my very favorites ever. You looked like you had such a truly fantastic time!! What a special trip!

Now I do have two bones to pick with you...number one, making fun of your mom for forgetting her user name/password:lmao: I DID THAT TOO! So...it's ummm...it's normal to do that. :lmao: :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Shameful admission on my part aside, we will move on to bone number 2.

You didn't get a stuffed Figment to bring along on your travels. With your user name, I would have thought you would have picked one of those up!:rotfl2: So now you must make that your new goal. One of the sweet stuffed Figments to accompany you. Safari Mickey is GREAT...but he needs a brother Figment to make your days even brighter.

In reality though, I am so glad you hopped on and joined. Please pass on a message to your mom and tell her that I am keeping her in my prayers. :wizard: Thanks for joining in! I am so happy you did (come out of the lurking closet).:grouphug:
