Pregnant Women In The Parks

The only places I've ever gotten bitten was at the Campfire at Ft. Wilderness and at the mini-golf course. I was eaten alive at mini-golf the one time I went without spray. Never gotten any bites at the parks and resorts though.

I think everyone should stay away from Orlando to avoid the zika mosquitos, especially during early August!

I would also extend that warning until September 8th.

Does anyone know if there is a "mosquito season" for Florida, or are there mosquitoes year round? We are going to Disney around Halloween through the first week of November.

Also, my husband and I are done having children. However, we will be bringing our young girls. I know it is probably impossible for anyone to know this at this point... If my young daughters were to be infected with Zika, could that possibly affect any future children they have even years down the road? I've seen a little talk about some people wanting to get infected so they have immunity. Of course, I would never purposely infect my children, I would keep repellant on them, I suppose. Should we be worried about this with young children? Any thoughts?

Zika is out of your system within a few weeks if you are infected. My friend who wants to get pregnant soon recently traveled to Costa Rica and her OB's advice was to wait 4 weeks to start trying to conceive, 8 weeks if she was nervous.
