Going to the parks pregnant was sure an experience!
I had MANY people ask me:
"WHAT POSESSED you to come to WDW with an INFANT AND PREGNANT?!"

It really just made me laugh, but after about the 5th time i just said
We wanted to come and we vacation here every year why should this be
any different?!? i was starting to get edgy!

so beware of comments made by many people!!

About 6 people asked me if i was having TRIPLETS>!>! they told me
i was HUUUUGE!! I must have cried about each time! My DH got so mad
at the last person and just told her to mind her own business! So i
apologize if that was you out there, but he was just upset at how hurt
i was getting. I am only having one baby, but i know i am a bit bigger
than normal. But also it looks like i am huge cause i am only 4ft 10!!

Other than that i must repeat what i am sure every OB has told every
prenant woman that goes to WDW:

NAP OFTEN! SIT OFTEN! and DRINK LOTS OF WATER!! OH and definately
have a map of just WHERE the BATHROOMS are! haha i must have gone
every 10 minutes! i could write a review on the bathrooms alone!!

We wouldn't have made it in that heat without all the water and
BATHROOM BREAKS!! and plenty of naps!! We also tended to sleep in
in the mornings and then head out late. WE took advantage of the
evening EMHs just so we could hit the park about noon and have lunch
and then do a couple shows or rides and then head back to the resort
until it cooled off for the evening and we stayed until closing! It
sooo much easier not to get moody when the temp was cool and the baby
was comfortable (both the one in the stroller and the one in the belly
haha)!!

I found Epcot to be the most miserable even though it's my fave park
and we went there like 3 times!! haha! There just was not a lot of
covered space with AC to hide out in that wasn't a teeny shop or
innoventions and i must have spent a BUNCLE while hanging out at
Mouse GEars!! So in case you didn't know the shops are NOT the place
to get air! haha...

Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes, i wore gym shoes every
day though they were SOOOO unfashionable with all my outfits and they
helped a ton with my swelling!

The best park for being pregnant was believe it or not: Animal Kingdom
I found there to be a lot of shows to sit in, but mainly there was
a large air conditioned Baby Care Center in which i relaxed in for
quite a bit.

I would also like to let you know that every single first aid center
is air conditioned and allowed me and dh and dd to sit and relax if
i got too overheated! They even got me ice water and ice packs for
a rash i developed while in FL!! it was fantastic!

***The rides i rode are up ahead next!***

First DownTown Disney:

Let me be the first to say that i LOVE to shop DTD! i have always
been obsessed with coming here and DH and I always spent waay too
much money!! But this year, I could barely handle it! the walking
really did me in by the time we reached W of D from the bus stops.
Needless to say we only went to DTD a couple times and had to give
it up on this vacation. While there were plenty of places to sit down
they were all outdoors and it just didn't work for us.

I sound so whiny and i apologize! i just wanted to tell the truth and
say right now i would do it all over again! I'm just glad that i know
what i know now! i really thought i would be able to handle a trip to
WDW just like i always had!! Well 7 months pregnant sure did make it
a different sort of trip! but we still had one of the best vacations
ever!!

Hi there! We flew SW from Chicago! We wanted to drive, but my Dr. discouraged it.
Too far of a drive. We hope to make that attempt next year! we'll see!

***MGM Studios***

Alright here we go the rides i could and did go on!

First things first we went and saw Lights Motors Action! We went
to get a fast pass afor the afternoon show as we were too late for
the show about to start and they were already out!! :(
My husband went and asked when we could come back and get a FP
and the CM gave him FPs for the show RIGHT NOW! that was awesome!

We went inside and of course it was super crowded, but the CM
doing the seating led us to the front row reserved for handicapped
people and told us to sit there! She said "you can stay here, i won't
have you climbing that high in your condition!!!" it was sooo nice
and sooo welcome as i was already tired!!

The show was spectacular! even my DD 9months loved it! haha she was
laughing and clapping! soo cute!

Walt Disney One Mans Dream:
Yes we went in and saw this as it is our FAVORITE! we always go at
least twice! It's a great way to get out of the heat and there is so
much to look at! We had to skip the show as we didn't want Autumn
to annoy anyone in the theatre!

The Great Movie Ride:
This was fun and great in keeping DD entertained! she started to get
antsy near the end, but was fine. I found it to be very relaxing and
a GREAT way to sit down! :) The standing through the cue line wasn't
too bad with a cold bottle of water!

Beauty and the Beast:
We sat near the back so i could have easy access to the restrooms
and DD could be ushered out if need be. It's not AC soo it wasn't a
cooling place, but a nice way to sit and relax cause there is a
SPECTACULAR show going on here!!

As you can tell MGM has no real 'ride' reviews, that's why i figured
i should do this one first since i can finish it faster! My DD is
due to wake up from her nap any time soon!

That was all we did here, however my DH did ride RNR coaster while
DD and i shopped at the gift shop here and at Tower! Always a way to
wait in style!!

MGM studios is the only park that i found to carry the maternity T's!
Unfortunately for me the pink one says: FUTURE MOMMY and i already
am one! i liked it soo much since underneath it also said:
Moods subject to change!!
hhahaha!

I only found two types of shirts both 28$ and both long sleeved!!
(yikes for the heat there nice for the cool in chicago!)

DTD at W of D also carried these two shirts!

The one i did buy was blue and has mickey bouncing up and down and it
says: Whoa Did you feel that??
soo cute!

I asked here if they carried any other maternity t's in the park and
the CM had no idea :( The store was: Stage 1 Company Store across
from Pizza Planet and Mama Melrose's

That was about it from here! Any questions? Ask away!

**Next Park Epcot**

I just wanted to let you know you're not alone out there. We went in May when I was about 6 months along and exteremly huge for 6 months, with an infant and a preschooler. So many people kept telling me how miserable I was--and I wasn't!--that it really begins to wear on you.

And I too also ALWAYS wore my cross trainers in the park regardless of how it looked. It helps your feet soooo much; it's one of my "pregnant at WDW" tips. It helps with your back also.

rt2dz: Thanks for that! i just found it soo amazing how many people found it necessary to point things out that either weren't true or were just outrageous! haha.
It's always good to know that i'm in good company out there! Cause if i were pregnant again next year (I BETTER NOT BE!!) i would still go again! haha...

I PROMISE EPCOT RIDES are coming up!!

Thank you so much for the reviews!!! We will be going in Jan. and I will be about 4 months along, so this post is very helpful!

I am confused as to what part of you trip was actually fantastic? It sounds like a miserable H*LL. I hope you were being sarcastic. I am just not seeing anyhting that made your trip sound at all fun. :confused3

Thanks for the great post! We are hoping to be pregnant next year and we really want to go back to Disney. It sounds like you still had a great time! Don't you just love what total stangers will say to you? They are worse when your pregnant! I had a woman in ACME asks if I was going to deliver right there and when I told her I was only 7 months, she loudly stated I better check to see if I was having twins! My husband was afraid I was going to freak out. Good thing motherhood calms you down!

EPCOT Review:

Wooo was it HOT HOT HOT! on the days we went here earlier in the
morning. Here is what i did:

Let's start in the WS!!

Mexico: I did the boat ride _El Rio Del Tiempo_

It was tough getting out of the boat haha but everything went well
here!! it was a relaxing ride and the AC felt great!

Norway: __Maelstrom__

I was a bit worried about this one (i've been on it before) but it was
totally fine! It was easier to get in and out of this than the mexico
one! always good to have DH with me!!

Now on to the Universe of Energy:

1>>I did: Ellen's Energy Adventure.

There are some benches to sit on, but they were all taken during the
preshow so i just sat on the floor, of course 10 minutes later when
we are about to begin the announce no one can stay on the floor.
Well my feet and back are killing me from walking around the WS,
and there was noooo way i was going to stand, so i stayed seated
against a wall so that no one would step on me. (i wasn't being defiant
i was just really tired and i needed the AC).

We then boarded the trams and everything was smooth sailing from there.
i had never seen this before so it was good to experience once, but
i wouldn't do it again :) it was a bit too loud for me.

2>>Space Ship Earth:

This ride is a fave of ours and i liked it and found it comfortable,
although stepping onto the moving walkway on all the rides left me
feeling a little bit uneasy.

***SIDE NOTE****

Anyone else here go to WDW at such a size in pregnancy that you feel
they should allow you to go through the stroller/wheelchair entrance?
Those darn turnstiles are NOT comfortable!!! i could barely fit
through them!

Rant over!!

*************

The LAnd

3>>Soarin: I did do this after debating whether or not to do it.
IT was fine for me completely i could have done without the waiting in
line ahahaha! but the ride itself was safe :)

That's all i did in EPCOT!!

******MAGIC KINGDOM UP NEXT!!!*****

We actually had a great time, i got the rash from something i was allergic too that i never knew about and will never know what it is unless it happens again, so it would have happened whether pregnant or not. The Drs. said it most likely was something i got on the airplane.

I had a phenomenal time in WDW, it was just different and that's what i am posting about here, only what was different than going normally and what to expect or be prepared for.

The main thing that did annoy me on the trip and made it hell was people's need to tell me how i was feeling and doing...it was really just annoying and frustrating to have to listen to people tell you "you look miserable" ummm....thanks...but i'm having a lot of fun, so i don't know why you think pregnant=miserable.

Oh well live and learn, but i want to reiterate that i had fun and would still go again pregnant. This is just a post about what happened to me that impacted the vacation, i am not posting all the good points!

ahh and beware of touchy-feely strangers?!?!!? anyone had those!?!? we must have had about 3 people touch my stomach! ARRGG!!!!!

ohhh and i didn't mention that at Orlando Internation Airport on the way home, i got stopped at security and the wand rubbed over my belly and the woman patted me down to make sure i wasn't "smuggling something under there?!?!" My husband and i laughed but it was wierd!

More to come soon! i promise!

Thanks for posting this for us other preggie traveling momms.. I will be almost 28-29 weeks during our trip next month and, since this is my 4th baby in 5 years, I am quite LARGE already. I hope no strangers touch my stomach or TELL me that I must be uncomfortable, in my hormonal state, they might just a karate kick to the head (cos, yeah, I am pregnant but thanks to prenatal yoga, I can kick that high if I have to. :rotfl2: )

HAHA Jennifer you have the right idea! DEFINATELY take that attitude with you and you will not be surprised by anything you hear! :)

Have fun!!

When I was 34 weeks pregnant w/ DS4, I went to a wedding and everyone there made rude comments about how huge and miserable I was (I WAS huge but I actually was feeling great.)
It was so discouraging.
Then the next day I was coming out of the grocery store and some burnout in his trashy car leans out the window and screams at me "Good Lord girl, you are huge!!!"
I cried all the way home.
I CAN laugh about it now. Especially cause ds was born 2 weeks later, at 4 weeks early, and was 9 lb. 7 oz. So I had a GOOD reason to be huge. LOL

Hang in there, you are almost there. And I salute you for being braver than I in taking such a fun trip at so far along. Blessings on your new little one! :flower:

DisneyMom5: Thanks sooo much for those kind words. Your small reply brought tears to my eyes. Like i've said before it's always nice to know that other people are feeling the same way you are. Thanks again!
