Pregnant in WDW...aaahhhhhhh

My mom went to Disney 5-6 months pregnant 3 times (I count that as my first Disney trip :) ). One thing I remember is that for some rides there are non-moving seats for pregnant women or I suppose anyone prone to motion sickness. Example: Star Tours. She was able to wait in line with us and then watch the show, just not bounce around. I'm sorry I can't remember any more, but I'm sure a cast member would know which rides had options like this.
Congrats!

I went in September 2002 when I was newly pregnant with my now 2 yo dd. I guess I was about 7 weeks.

I am fortunate not to have morning sickness with my pregnancies, and felt fine the entire time. I wasn't even very tired, and I'm not a spring chicken.

I have 2 other children, and my older dd (she's now 16) loves the "rides." I did do Space Mountain and Rock-n-Roller Coaster with her more than once. And I did Test Track. My pregnancies have all been low-risk and uneventful.

Good luck to you! We're going on the 21st and my 2 yo dd has already been on a lot of the rides (she'd probably go on them now if they'd let her, she's a real daredevil).

We went last Dec, I was 5 months along at that point. Ditto on what most have said but I would also warn you about the new Disney buses that have the air system (?). Everytime we had to ride one of those i got sick as a dog, I learned if I sat near the front of the bus it wasn't quite as bad; however, in the back it truly felt like a new ride.

We took our dd when she was two and I was 6 months pregnant with our now 6 yr old boys. They were born 5 wks early at 7lbs2 and 7lbs11. I was huge while I was in the world. I made sure to relax when I got tired, hydrate constantly and wear really comfortable shoes. One day we stayed at MK for 11 hours straight. People and CM let me get on rides quickly. I think they thought I was going to deliver any minute. The last day I finally gave in--my dh pushed me in a wheelchair. Have a wonderful time. Our pictures from that trip were hysterical and we have very fond memories from that trip. Plus my boys always tell me they went to WDW an extra time in my tummy.

I think a lot of it depends on your expectations, and the time of year you go along with how you're feeling.

I've been to WDW many times, and we had a family trip of 13 planned for over a year in advance. I was 28/29 weeks pregnant when I went to WDW last month. I was extremely hot and very uncomfortable. I'm a thrill ride person also, and I have to admit that I felt I missed out on a lot of the thrill rides and things I usually do. With that said, however, there is still lots to see and do in WDW when you're pregnant. I agree with the advice of taking lots of water into the park with you along with wearing comfortable shoes and breaking often. We went to Typhoon Lagoon the one day and that was very refreshing.

Personally, I wouldn't want to go again pregnant nor would I want to go in July again either, but again, that's just me. I think if I were 3 months along and went in the fall, i'd probably have a different perspective on it.

Best of luck to you.

Someone already mentioned this, but I want to second that your feet will swell when doing a lot of walking so have shoe options. We were on a trip to NYC when I was a couple of months pregenant and the foot swelling was the only thing that really got me. All I had was a pair of tennis shoes and it got kind of uncomfortable.

First thing I would like to do is congrats. And second I would like to know where you are staying. I also just found out I am pregnant (my 2nd) and will be there the exact same time as you. :cheer2: I came to this board to ask the same question.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

Congratulations to you too!!! :flower:
We are staying at Shades of Green because my dh is in the airforce reserves. We stayed there last year and LOVED it!
You are at Animal Kingdom? Would you like to meet up? How old is your first child?

That is great that your dd has been so many times!!! That is what we plan on doing. We are already talking about when we go next year with the baby!
We have not been to B&C, but would love to go. I think based on a few of our dinner reservations, we are going to Epcot on the 23rd and MK on the 24th. The first day, the 22nd, I think we are going to go to DTD because we do not have our passes yet. Actually we were talking about getting AP's this time! We have not decided yet.

By the way, I would LOVE to stay at AKL, however we just can't pass up the good deal at SoG. :confused3

Do you have your ADR's made?

You'll be fine! I backpacked through Europe while 2 months pregnant this June. My husband was my best support system. He knows me better than I know myself. He made sure that I ate regularly and remembered to take my vitamin. I guess he was practicing his dad skills! My body told me what I could and couldn't do: for example, swollen ankles meant RELAX for a little while, and a tender tummy in the morning meant stay in bed for an extra hour. Best wishes to you for a healthy, happy pregnancy!
