We have been surprised by my mother in law with a last minute trip to DLP ( which I have inturn organised madly over the last few days). I've been lucky enough to travel to disney a few times to say the least but currently being pregnant and going to disney will be a new one for me. We have a DD aged 5 already and she's been twice with us (me and DH) and we have her cousins going too aged 7 and 8 along with Mother in law and sister in law. We all Know what to expect as a family going, but I for the first time ever feel out of my depth. PLEASE does anyone have any tips for me!
Huge thanks in advance

Hey! I'm pregnant too and going to DLP in May for a day trip - should be 30 weeks pregnant when we go!! :scared: lol How far along will you be?? Which aspects are you most worried about?

I will be just short of 20weeks. Well I've heard about getting a 'pink' pass and I was told when I booked to get one as its classed as a priority pass. This sounds good but there is a fair amount of us going and I don't want to use the pass only for some of my family to be left behind. Also I know certain rides are definite no no but how about the softer rides with lap bars. What are you worried about? Also the smoking is a bit of a worry too as last time it was still a massive issue.
It's just totally new territory to me.:hyper2:

With the pass for pregnancy only 1 person can go with you which splits the group up but you will need it. I've been twice pregnant, 26 and 28 weeks and I cousknt handle queuing an hour for meets and rides, I was in agony. I didn't know about the pass until our last day of the first pregnant trip when a cm at a meet and greet told me.

The smoking thing sounds like it could be an issue based on previous experience where people smoke anywhere. Do you know if in recent years they have managed to cut down on where people smoke?

I've only just found out about the Easy Access Pass (I think it's that one, not the Priority pass) - and if it's only 1 person I'm HOPING they will be sensible and have my husband as that plus 1 but allow my 5 year old with us! lol

Smoking I haven't found a problem to be honest. There was one lady who lit up in a queue for a M&G with Jack back in December 2013, but the CM there almost immediately told her to step out of the line while she smoked. I really haven't noticed it all that much. OBVIOUSLY there's more smoking there than there is in other places, as France doesn't have the laws we have in the UK for example, and maybe I've been lucky with all my visits, but....

Lap bars - when not pregnant, I don't have a massively small tummy, and my lovely hubby is....well blessed around the stomach area! lol So if my daughter is sat next to him on something like Snow White, the lap bar doesn't go near her, he puts his arm around her, and she's safe. But they won't push the lap bar too tight on you on the calmer rides I'm sure! I'm 20 weeks now - you'll be absolutely fine I'm sure!

My issue will be my feet! lol I seem to have delicate little tootsies at the best of times! Blisters will appear quite quickly - at least we're only there for 1 day! And we're not going to run around! We shall see what happens!

When it was me, dh and my 4 year old they allowed us so, together. But when it was me, dh, 5 year old and 7 month old they wouldn't. They expected my 5 year old to be my carer which Is ridiculous .

Any idea why? Just wondering if it was because they were 5, or do you think it was because there were 4 of you? Sorry, you probably don't know!! lol Just thinking out loud really!

I'm hoping they will do the same as well as we have a 5 year old DD.
I'm glad about the rides too I'm going to find it hard enough that I can't go on pirates and that's all of our favourites and its been the 1st ride I always go on every time I have been (and that's a few) I will be making a point of eating there so I can at least get a partial pirate fix!
I'm happy to hear about the smoking as well as its been 2 years since we last went and cast members didn't say much to people that time.
Xx

It's mainly the drops which I can understand - it just means the next time we go I'll have to make up for it haha :D
Xx

Ive never been in pirates as my eldest is scared of it but her dad insisted to me there is only one tiny drop? Has he lied to me to try to get me to ride it as he knows I'm a whimp with drops?

There are two drops one is larger than the other, neither huge but defiantly a no no when pregnant, has all the signs saying expectant mothers should not ride right from the start, I love it and have been lots but will not be risking going on it.
Xx

Not suggesting you go outside your comfort zone. But personally I'd ride PotC while pregnant.

No lap bars and the drops are no worse than if you were on a plane in turbulence etc.

I'd be much more concerned about stuff that was jerky (hello Fantasyland)

Again. I'm not giving medical advice. Just my opinion.

Peter Pan and Pinocchio was very uncomfortable when pregnant . Imagine snow White is the same

Another question - how have people found the food options?

Specifically breakfast at the Disney Hotel (Hotel Cheyenne), are there good options? I'm thinking I should avoid the meat and maybe the cheese. I'm guessing French yoghurt is pasturised.

For things like steak and burgers do they cook it well done if requested?

Can they leave out things such as cheeses like brie in a dish or sandwich?

There's definitely 2 drops, but not too bad at all.

COMPLETELY agree - and if was less pregnant I would do it, but I think I'll be obviously pregnant by then, and I don't want to put the CMs in an awkward situation - them's the guidelines, they have been told to advise, so....

Hmmmmm. Good question. Steak and burgers - I've known family members to ask steak to be medium well in France and it come back more medium rare! So maybe stay clear of steaks. Counter service burgers are probably fine and well done, Annettes I know they ask you how you want it cooked, and I've always chosen medium in the past (bit pink) , so I'm not sure what would happen if you ask for well....

Breakfasts - there's plenty of fruit, I'd guess the yogurt is probably safe! Who knows with the meat - if it's cooked ham it's probably fine, but the cured hams.....who knows.

Brie etc - either ask and see what they say or choose things without the ingredient in the first place I'd say! Cheese is a funny one - French women (so I understand) aren't given the same restrictions regarding cheese as we are during pregnancy, and they seem to be fine! They ARE saying in the UK now that even blue and mould ripened cheese are fine if they're cooked! Difficult when the guidelines change so often too! lol

Very good point about if you are very big and the CMs might make it an issue. Didn't think of that one.

I was HUGE. So not sure I could've manage to climb in/out most of the rides anyway! Maybe people/show watching is the best bet for 3rd tri. X

I visited WDW when I was 20 weeks' pregnant with child no. 1, and DLP very early on with no. 3. I rode POTC and a couple of other rides with drops at WDW, but I didn't do any rides with severe motion. I wouldn't worry about POTC if I were you. I seem to remember that the ride recommendations are on the cautious side. When I was expecting my youngest, I was careful with rides, but the only rides I remember being sorry to miss were Space Mountain and Crush's Coaster.
