When I was pregnant with my son, I was in WDW. I was only 7 weeks pregnant at that time and did not enjoy the trip as much as I could have due to morning sickness. This time, I will be 17-18 weeks pregnant with #2 and I am hoping I will have a great time. Any suggestions? Tips?

I know.drink lots of water and rest often. Anything else??? Thanks!

My wife was 6 monthes pregnant when we went last May and her advice was to put your feet up any chance you could get (on benches on rides, wherever). Also Of course drink lots of water and rest often. Don't try to commando the parks. Take your time and go back to the hotel for rest when you need it.

Congratulations! I don't really have a whole lot of advice. I've never been while PG although on our trip in 3 weeks I'll be 28 weeks along with #3. I figure I'll do a lot of people watching and sitting with my dad, my dd2 and my 3 year old nephew while everyone else goes on the mountains, Mission Space, etc. You may want to check out http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/pregnant.htm . It has some tips from those who have been there, done that. At least you'll be in the second trimester and should be feeling good and have some energy back!

i was 7 mths pregnant when i went with hubby and 11 mth old. we did everything we wanted and i felt great. drank lots of water and wore cool outfits with a good pair of sneakers. since i couldn't go on some rides, i used that as my rest time. i thought it was fine.

I was there twice while pg with DS. Once at 16 weeks and once at 28 wks. The 16 week trip was much easier on me than the latter, shall we say.

I say, drink tons of water, sit as much as you want, don't power-park if you can't handle it, and take as many boats, busses, trams, etc as you can find to not wipe yourself out.

Enjoy yourself!

Me too! Me too! I don't mean to steal your thread, but I will be 8 weeks pregnant on our next trip (in less then 2 weeks.) I was at WDW pregnant before Feb 2001, 32 weeks in fact. That trip was planned last min as a getway, and everything went well. In fact I felt best that week then the wholpe pregnancy. I was really sick most of the pregnancy. I am thrilled about the baby, but kinda kicking myself about getting pregnant right before Christmas and our vacation we had planned for a year.

So far I feel pretty good, but I am really worried about having morning sickness and no engery all over WDW. I am hoping the sunshine and warmer weather (at least warmer then Michigan) will help.

Also we will have lots of help, my 12 year old neice (who is great with DD and wonderful to be around) is coming with us. Some god friends are going to be there with a son the same age as DD (2 years 9 months.) I am worried about bringing everyone else down, but they are all very understanding.

I love eating at WDW, I hope I still enjoy it this trip!

Any hints to keep morning sickness to a minimum?

When I was pg in Disney with my first at about 7 weeks, I got a small bag of the mini unicorn lollipops. They're in a yellow bag with Goofy on it. They really helped with my nausea. Also, I love the gummy Mickey mouse heads. Yummy.........

This time I am being treated for gestational diabetes from the beginning of the pregnancy b/c I had it with my first, so I think those sugary treats are not an option for me. But I will have one or two splurges while in WDW. I mean, hey! I'll be in WDW!!! You gotta eat! That's half the fun - for me anyway.

Ok, I am looking for the lollipops!!!! Actually I have found that if I "just keep eating, just keep eating" Like Dory in finding nemo, but instead of swimming it is eat. Anyway constant eating of something (a craker, a lollipop, gum helps.)

The problem is I have to eat even when I am not hungery, and I am going to get really fat (I was so sick 1st pregancy I lost 13 lbs 1st trimester, gained that back the second and gained another 13 the 3rd.) All beat are off this pegnancy, I just want to feel good.

I am looking forward to eating at WDW, I always love eating there and this time I have a good excuse.

Have a healthy pregnancy and a safe trip.

No advice, 2 of our trips to Disney were postponed due to pregnancy. I did not want to go there with morning sickness and all. Hope you have a great trip just remember to drink lots of water and have fun!!!

For the morning sickness, try ginger snaps. (I can vouch for the Stauffers brand, they won't hurt your teeth like those nasty pressed ones from Nabisco.) Just carry some around with you at all times, and eat a couple before you get out of bed in the morning, too.

Thanks for the giner snaps idea, I have been trying them. I also got some "Preggie Pops" lolipops in favors that is supose to help with morning sickness. Expect most of mine is in the evening.

I just got back from my 1st dr appt and he gave me the go ahead witht he trip (I was 100% positive he would, after all this is the same Doc who encouraged me to go at 32 weeks.) He said I could ride any ride I felt up to this early in the pregnancy. He also gave me some prescribtion samples of a med called Zofran ODT that he said was really good and I should be feeling good on this trip. (I hope he is right, but it gives me a little bit of peace of mind.) He also warned me to be careful about the sun because I was would burn easily and drink plently of water.

Heres to my second trip pregnant, less then a week to go.

When we went to WDW in this past March I was 18-19 weeks pregnant. I was very lucky and never suffered from morning sickness. :) You definitely need to drink lots of water...which means lots more bathroom breaks. Also be prepared to have to sit and rest more often than normal...I couldn't go for as long as I normally could without a break. I always carried a granola bar with me just in case I needed something to eat quickly...never did....always had time to buy those yummy treats disney offers. ;) Wear comfy shoes, too. I stayed away from all the rides that had warnings...I didn't want to take any chances.

I felt wonderful our entire trip. :)

Oh...and don't forget to bring extra spending money, especially if you know what you're having...disney makes LOTS of cute baby items! Luckily, we didn't know what we were having at the time (found out the week after our trip)...otherwise I would have spent an extra $1000 instead of an extra $100! ;)

Thank you Ellen for that link -

We are planning a trip for late April early May (nothing booked yet - waiting for rate specials) I am due July 7th and was worried that maybe I would be too far along!

We are going to go for 7 days - and plan to only use the 3 days and options left on our passes from our last trip - so it will be a lot of R&R around the pool.

Scanne - I too am treated for Gestational Diebetes (4x a day te4sting and all) and I think I can't decide why I am more dissapointed -about having to watch the carb intake or about not going on fav rides!
I hate to say this - but i may have to use those 'dinner carbs wisely - on JUNK FOOD once in a while! lol)
:teeth:

I think that you people who are getting pg at Disney World should start checking into what is making you pregnant so that it doesn't happen the next time.
