Pregnant at IOA

My DH and I are going to WDW in early March with his high school band (he is the percussion instructor). The band is spending three days at WDW and marching in the Share A Dream Come True parade.

On their last day in Orlando, they are going to IOA. I will be 19 weeks pregnant at the time. Is there ANYTHING I can do/enjoy at IOA? We've never been. The high school is paying for everything for the trip since my DH is staff, so we won't lose any money by going. We are debating if we should just spend another day at WDW instead of at IOA. My DH would like to ride the rollercoasters, but he said he said it wouldn't be as fun since I can't ride (and I LOVE coasters). We're trying to decide what to do.

Do IOA tickets expire, or are they like WDW tickets?

You can do the following at IOA:

Caro-Seuss-sel (the non-moving seats)
One Fish, etc.
Sindbad show
JP Discovery Center
Triceratops Encounter (if open)

You can also do Cat in the Hat, but remember to ask the ride op to turn off the spinning.

Unless the ticket has an expiration date or is for a hard ticketed event like Halloween Horror Nights, tickets never expire until you first use them.

Hmmm...does'n't sound like I'd enjoy myself. I might just have to talk DH into going back to WDW.

Uh, Barry, ALL the seats on Caro-Seuss-el move. Even the big car one has some up and down motion. You also forgot to tell her about Discovery Center and Posiedon's Fury. I've seen expectant mothers even go on rides like Storm. Plus it says at the rides that expectant mothers SHOULD not ride certain rides. Meaning that if they really really want to, they can. It's ultimately up to the expectant mohter if she wants to try the ride(s) or not.

On the subject of what rides are OK...when I was expecting, I did my research and what I learned was that rides that have tight spinning and big drops were NOT ok...the reason being, the blood is being pulled AWAY from the baby...
That said, like Dark Marauder said, many rides are going to say that women who are pregnant should not ride...they are making sure they cover themselves.
I would NEVER have gone on StormForce, but I would go on Popeye, and *possibly* Spiderman...Caro-Seuss-el would be fine whether the seats were moving or not, LOL.
I remember there were signs at Earthquake and Kong and BTTF for a few at the studios (the studios is where I went when I was 6 months along) and I went on all of them because they just jostle you around, the baby is WELL protected in there, but you don't want to have spinning and dropping and risk internal problems that the baby could encounter.
The fact that some go on some things and are OK (like Storm), to me is just too much of a risk...and the fact that some avoid something like Earthquake, also seems silly.
The bottom line is, you have to be comfortable with your desicions. There is plenty to do there, but lots you can't do.
