Will be going to Ak and wondering what rides should NOT be done.

Also, don't know where to search for this but I am a high risk pregger is their a way to get some sort of pass so I'm not standing for too long? Maybe it's wishful thinking. I don't know if I would be worthy of a handicap pass or how to go about it. I think I have nerves from all that walking! Lol

There's no disability pass for "standing too long." If you have issues with mobility or stamina they will recommend that you rent a wheelchair or scooter.

I was pregnant at AK a couple years ago. I did not ride Everest and Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl. Otherwise I think everything was okay. Safari is not recommended for pregnant, but I rode that and did not find it very rough at all.

I have read threads where people don't recommend the Safari for pregnant women but I found it totally fine. I guess it would depend on the reasons you are high risk (not asking you to tell us, just saying that I would keep those things in mind when choosing your activities.) But if walking is an issue then def get a scooter!

If you are high risk I'm sure your DR. will advise against all rides... If you can't stand in line its prob equally dangerous to experience any sort of movement or sudden turning / spinning that might throw you balance off or give you that butterfly feeling in your stomach. As much as it sucks to pay to go somewhere and not be able to be apart of riding rides the risk outweighs the reward, I'm not sure how far along you are or where your from but you don't want to send yourself in to early labor out of state being stuck on bed rest.
I'm currently pregnant myself and am a high risk even the carousel I took my son to at the carnival last week was a terrible idea after I road it thinking I'd be fine, well I got myself so motion sick I ended up cramping and going into false labor (I only have 8 weeks left).
I'd rent a scooter and stick to watching shows, looking at animals & character meets.

I avoided Everest, dinosaur, and Kali.

You can read about DAS on the DiSabilities board and see if that is something that can help your needs be accommodated. It isn't be diagnosis that Disney requests. More details over there.

All of this. Depending on what your type of risk is, I would assume your MFM will give you strict instructions, including no rides. No vacation is worth the risk. I hope you're able to find a way to enjoy your trip!

I would say no rides at AK, I live next to Disney and go often, I was high risk during my last pregnancy and my dr said nothing at AK from the very beginning. It is all to bumpy or shaky. I just walked around saw the shows and looked at the animals.

Tangent Alert (Sorry).
How did u score the Cinderella Castle Suite? Would love to know.

I'm going to ask Dr and see what he says....especially as time gets closer to when we go.
Are there any rides in the other parks you can go on? AK is my favorite park....but should have said all parks.

We went last fall and I was 7 months pregnancy. I did safari, stayed away from the other rides people mentioned. Safari can get slightly bumpy but nothing I saw issue with. I was told by a CM is that their concern is that you could get stuck out there. If an animal sits down in the road and decides not to move, well then you're not going anywhere. When we went the had to hold the ride for about 45 minutes because an animal decided they weren't going to move from the roadway. Thankfully, it was the start of our fast pass window and they told us just to come back later.

My bigger problem was finding shade at AK. It was HOT in September and shade/AC were not the easiest to find. We went out to Rafiki's Planet Watch to hang out for a bit, saw Lion King Show, ducked into stores. Overall I would say we had a hard time at AK and Epcot finding places to cool down.

I was a high risk pregnancy too. My doctor was very familiar with Disney parks and rides. Nothing at AK. No drops. No sudden stops. No quick spins. So a lot was out at the other parks. I would say that if you are high risk then don't ride anything that has a pregnancy warning and don't ride anything that a baby can't ride. You are carrying a baby. She/he is just inside right now.

I was extra careful. I browsed shops or sat in the shade while DS and DH were riding things I couldn't/wouldn't. It was a nice relaxing trip.

Yes, please ask your Dr sooner rather than later! The specific high risk factors affecting your pregnancy will influence what you can and can't do. The recommendations here are very general!

I have rode the Safari numerous times. It's a little bumpy, no big deal. One time we had a CM that purposely made the ride very herky-jerky and stopped and go very fast. I had my 10 month old son and honestly I had to hold on really tight because of the way the CM was riding. When I got off I actually felt motion sickness and had to sit down. I know this is not the norm, but if I was ever pregnant during that ride, I would of been very upset.
