I'll be 23 weeks pregnant when we visit Disney in 2 weeks time. I'm deserate to ride the Kilamanjaro Safari but know that Disney advise against this. I've read conflicting advice on this with some people saying it is absolutely fine.

Any thoughts?

You'll drive on bumpier roads on the way to Disney than on the safari-unless you are very high risk-go for it.

I would play it safe and not ride. If something happened to the baby you would never forgive yourself so taking the risk.

I would not take the risk. I lost 2 pregnancies and can't understand why you would even consider taking a risk. Depending how crazy your driver is, you ride could be very bumpy at the end.

I did it and it was fine. It was the only thing I rode against advice. I would think maybe if you were in the very last trimester, you might not want to do it bc the bumps could possibly induce labor, but toher than that I think you would be fine. Ask your doctor! Mine was upfront with me.

My son was born at 24 weeks. This can be a risky point even in a healthy pregnacy. I would never take a chance. You would feel so guilty if something was to go wrong. I know I questioned EVERYTHING I had done in the week before DS was born. SAve it for the next trip and introduce your new little one to WDW.

Oh I definately would not risk it. Just ride it next time you go to Disney.

I did it at about 23 weeks with a stitched up cervix! It was a little bumpy but no bumpier than the gosh darned pothole ridden streets in my town!! I did ask to sit in the front which is supposed to be less bumpy and the CM gladly obliged. I also had DD2 on my lap. It was fine. I did get out of line for Goofy's rollercoaster because I didn't feel as comfortable with that ride. Just go with your gut!!!

I've been on this ride many times and I WOULDN'T do it. A few weeks ago we had the bumpiest ride ever. Our driver made our safari a "thrill ride." He would speed up quickly and stop fast. We were all over our seats. I was holding on to my 3 year old for dear life. Everyone's experience is different. It is not worth harming your unborn child.

I rode while pregnant with each of my two children, and this was the only ride I went against the pregnant warning on. I figured it definitely wasn't any bumpier than driving around here after the winter potholes have come or the very turbulent flight I was on to get to FL. It's really up to you and what you feel comfortable doing, every pregnancy is different, so one person's comfort level may be different than yours.

I was there at 34wks and I wouldn't ride it. While I waited for my family I saw more than a handful of pg women exiting after riding. I figured that the health of my baby was more important than a ride that would be there long after my pg. Congrats on your baby.

The ride was extremely bumpy and I would strongly advise against riding. I went to DL & WDW both while pregnant and still had a wonderful time. I did not ride any of the rides that Disney posts pregnant women should not ride.

I shopped a lot and rode other rides and had a great time.

Don't risk it, your baby will enjoy Kilimanjaro Safaris with you once he/she is born healthy and risk free. Just my .02

I rode on this last time I was in wdw. I was 28 weeks at the time. It was no more bumpy that most roads where I live. I am surprised so many people think it is so horrible. I can see not riding mission space, but I thought this ride was nothing.

Like I said, ask your dr. There is also a warning against riding SOARIN'.... I forgot to mention that I did go against the warning on that one too---I mean, Soarin'?

there's a warning on soarin'? you don't do anything but sit there!

i rode the safari at 8wks pregnant with my first and at about 24wks pregnant with my second. i was totally comfortable with my decision and didn't see it as a risk.

It is always best to discuss with your OB. If your pregnancy is going well, (s)he may say it is fine (mine did at 14 weeks). I would suggest riding in the front, as the back is very bumpy!
