Hi!

I was given so much help a few months ago when I took my two year old to Disney! She loved it! Now we are going again, but I just found out I was pregnant. I will be seven month pregnant when we go to Disney in November. Has anyone gone to Disney that late in their pregnancy? Are there any tips I should know about? Can I ride anything with my almost three year old daughter?

I really appreciate your help! I am so very very worried about this!

Thank you!

I went when I was 6 months pregnant in June, so going in November should be much better. Just take your time and know you can't do everything. I did not ride very much, but even not preg. the merry go round and teacups make me sick. Good luck and have fun!

in 2003 we went to disney the first week of november and i had my second child christmas week, so i guess that put me around the same 7mo, right? its so hard to remember what i had for dinner last night, forget about 4 years ago, :rotfl:
it wasnt so bad at all. that year it was unusually hot that week, in the 90s, but odds are you wont have that weather. so the heat was difficult. that year we did rent a home so that i could be more comfortable. and i did take a whole day while everyone went to sea world. i just napped and swam. but other than that i did everything everyone else did.
for rides i went on anything that didnt have a height restriction. i also went on kali river rapids because it is may favorite ride. now i suppose if they could have seen that i was pregnant they wouldnt have let me on, but with that child i carryed very small.
i thought about going on the safari, but i skipped it. it would probably be fine, but i wanted some alone time at that moment.
soarin wasnt there then, but i should think that would be fine.
i didnt do any of the mountains, there was no need.

as far as getting tired i made sure to take my vitamins and i took extra iron. i also made sure to get lots of protien. for breakfast i had eggs and a protein bar. i carryed protein bars with me. i tried to eats lots of chicken. i even had myself a turkey leg. i cpmpletely stayed away from anything high in sugar, that would just exhaust you.
i also walked before hand. im a walker, i love it, but that year i stepped it up before we left. about 4 months before i started walking 3 miles a day. i think that helped a lot.

most of all remember its a vacation, so dont push too hard.

I'll be going the first week in Sept when I'll be about 27 weeks. I plan on drinking lots of water, and taking breaks during the hottest parts of the day. It will be a dh and I only trip, so there will be less stress of having to do everything the kids want to do and more time for relaxing.
I am also going to step up my walking routine before going so that I won't be so worn out from all of the walking at the parks.

Here's some info from allears net.

Have fun!

I just went in April and I was 5 months pregnant at the time and I just took it easy and did what I could. I drank a lot of water too! We went on a few rides...Spaceship earth, nemo, figment, Mickey's Philharmonic (which may have been a little too lound bc baby kept kicking!), TTA, Carosel of Progress, Buzz Lightyear, Its a small world, Haunted Mansion, and the jungle cruise. But no thrill rides of course. We also spent some time in the pool, helps take the stress off your legs! And naps!!

We are looking forward to our first trip with baby in December!

DH and I went to WDW twice while I was pregnant... once in October when I was four months pregnant and once in January when I was seven months along. The weather was warm in October but not unbearable. I was comfortable in short sleeves throughout... I just grabbed a long sleeved jacket or shirt for meals in the air-conditioning. When we went in January it was cold... we spent the whole trip in sweatshirts.

The biggest thing for me was comfortable shoes. The only time I had issues with my feet and ankles swelling during my pregnancy was while I was at WDW. I guess because I spent much more time on my feet and walking. My crocs got quite the workout. I didn't really wear any other shoes while I was there. I made sure I stopped to rest often and didn't try to overdo it. Drink lots of water... you'll need a bathroom more often but it helps keep your energy up. Try to "eat smart". I tried to be as healthy in the food department as possible... it kept me feeling good and energized. Naps were key... I took them as often as necessary. If your little one does naptime at WDW it may be a great time for you to get some rest as well!

I rode just about anything that did not have a warning on it. So, no thrill rides, but I imagine your 3 year old wouldn't be into those rides anyway! I know some people that have said they rode the safari while pregnant and just sat up front. I couldn't do it... I carried very low and my daughter set up residence on my bladder. The thought of that type of bouncing... UGH... it would have been an accident waiting to happen!

I have to say I really enjoyed WDW while pregnant... we did everything at a much slower, more relaxed pace. Our trips were adults only so we did more of the tours and just took everything at our own speed. DH and I also played the "put that on the list of things I will never do as a parent" game!;) (It was eye opening to say the least)

I hope some of this is helpful. Enjoy your trip!

As long as you take it easy and take care of yourself you should be fine. Of course your ride/attraction choices will be limited - any ride with a safety or pull down bar (like HM) might not be good to do depending upon how big your belly is at the time - you don't want any safety bars pressing down on your baby.

I would say as long as you discuss it wiht your Dr. and listen to what thye say - you will be fine. Also talk about flying (if that'show your going). You may need to get up and walk depending upon how long the flight is.

One thing I would STRONGLY reccommend (if you haven't done it already) is get trip insurance (be it thur Disney or another company). This way you will have piece of mind if for whatever reason you decide at the last minute it's not best to go, you won't lose your money.

Good Luck and Congratulations on the pregnancy!

I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant too. We are going in December and I will be 5 months then. I am definately going to take things slower than normal and make sure to rest often. The allears section on pregnancy is very helpful. Congratulations!

I went in September at 31/32 weeks in 2003. It was an awesome trip. I think as long as your sensible (drink lots of water and rest when you need to) and have your doctors input on rides and whether the trip is a good idea you will be just fine.

I was 4 months pregnant and went in December. My advice is to check with your doctor. They know you and your pregnancy best. I was able to ride more that I thought I could, with my MD permission, of course. Comfortable shoes and time for "rest" is very important. Also remember to keep up with vitamins/nutrition while you are there. There are so many people you come in contact with and a nasty virus/illness will not help you or your baby.

I went in April with DH and DD, 16 months. I was only 4 months along, but it wasn't too different from any other trip. I rode everything my DD rode, and we had a great time! We went back to the room once a day for DD to nap, and both DH and I napped, too. Drink lots of fluids and have a great trip! :thumbsup2

I was actually really huge towards the end of my pregnancy and rode Haunted Mansion at 39 weeks pregnant. My dream was to go into labor in the park AND be offered Cinderellas Suite so I could birth my baby in Cinderellas Suite LOLOL... no such luck

Tiffany_Mommyof 3 - And wouldn't have been great if you did have your baby in Disney that they wold give him/her (and the parents of course) a lifetime pass to WDW!!

I was 8-9 weeks pregnant with my son when we last went to WDW and I thought it was great. It was special knowing my little one was experiencing Disney with me. We bought him "My First Disney Bear" while we were there and it's the teddy he sleeps with.
