Well, we weren't planning on this happening, but to our surprise, I just found out I am pregnant. We have our trip planned for Disney with our three little boys. Airfare is paid, and everyone is looking forward to going, so I am up for the trip...I will be about 13 weeks at that point.

Obviously I won't be able to enjoy all the rides, but my husband can handle that with the kids. I am also thinking we can do that "Child Swap" where my husband can take one after the other if needed.

My question is....is it posted anywhere what are safe and/or unsafe attractions for pregnant women? I have never been to Disney and although can read the descriptions of the rides, I wanted to know if there was anything "official". Obviously any jerky ride is out (Small World okay I guess!), but what about these shows? I would just like to know these things before we arrive.

Thanks for any and all advice. :)

the unofficial guide is loaded with preggo info about rides...also each ride will have a sign. i was just past 14 weeks when we went, and had just gotten thru the exhausted phase of pregnancy...drink lots of water while you are there..they won't let you on the safari ride in animal kingdom, i have no idea why..the rest are pretty common sense....

Well I have never been pregnant nor do I think that I ever will be, but I thought that I would answer your question anyways.

I don't think that there are very many shows that you would have to worry about unless the 4D shows make you queasy. Then you just have to close your eyes.

Most of the rides are not as thrilling as a teenager would want to see but even for some of the more thrilling rides, such as Mission Space, have a tamer version available.

Go and have fun.

My first time at Disney I was 7 months pregnant (in June/July...not recommended!). Other than the heat, and having to rest a lot, I had a blast there. I obviously was further along than you will be, but I rode the obvioulsy safe "kiddie" rides, and the most intense one I rode was the Goofy rollercoaster. I didnt have any problems going on AK's safari ride, however...but this was 3 1/2 years ago, so things might have changed. Like someone else said, each ride will have a sign with warnings on who should not ride...I figured if my 2 year old could ride something, so could I!

On the bright side, for your husband at least, is for the rides that are definitely not suitable for you or the little guys to ride, is that he can take advantage of using your fast passes. I know thats nothing fun for you, but we did this while I was pregnant and I took my 2 year old daughter and shopped while waiting for him to ride the double fastpasses. I got a lot more shopping and resting time for myself without worrying about slowing my husband down :P

And congratulations!

I have actually been to WDW PG a few times..both early on and later...
There is a lot that you can ride in all the parks..and i wouldn't worry about shows.
You can't ride the Mountains,EE, TOT, RNC,mission space, Dinosaur, test track, the race cars in MK (cannot think of the proper name right now..lol)and Goofy' Barnstormer. There is actually a warning , i believe, on POC..not really sure why though, i rode that 13 weeks and at 28 weeks (and in between..lol)
There is also a warning on Kilamanjaro Safari..it is very bouncy at certain times of the ride..i did ride this early in pg (not later), but asked to sit in the front row...use your best judgment when it comes to these rides.
There is so much you can go on and do while pg in WDW. Make sure you do get your rest though, and drink more water than you think you need. Take some time out and put you feet up and take in the sites...Have a wonderful time and Congratulations on your PG, have a happy and healthy 9 months!

I was 20 weeks when we went last feb I went on everything that didnt have a hight restriction except safari at AK, just make sure you drink lots of water, and rest when you can.

i rode everything pg except ms, tot & rnr....yes, i did the mountains (quite a bit) and safari. It was my 1st trimester the first time & 2nd the 2nd time (same pregnancy).

btms & sm don't go that fast (compared to rnr).

I got myself in the same situation! After deciding no more children (we have a 7yo son, and quite a few miscarriages since then) we said we wouldn't try. Doc's said I couln't carry to term so I wasn't thinking, but now I will be 18 weeks when we leave Feb 24th!

There are signs everywhere on what you can ride and what you can't. I thought I saw a thread here that had all the ride info as far as being pregnant. There is also a book called "The Passporter's Guide to Disney WIth Disabilities" and they list pregnancy as one of the disabilities. It also had a listing of what you could ride and what you couldn't. Barnes and Noble carries it.

I'm planning on lots of shopping and resting while my dh and ds are in line. Good luck and have a great time!

Hi there...I'm going to WDW in a little less than 3 weeks and I will be between 8 and 9 weeks pregnant at that time. I talked to my Dr. on Friday about our upcoming trip and the ride restriction with the safari ride. My Dr. had been to WDW before and has riden the safari ride. She said that she had absolutely no concern of me riding that at the point I would be at in my pregnancy. She said she wouldn't advise to ride it in late pregnancy, but early on was fine. She basically said that I'd be fine on the vast majority of rides with the restrictions, but I'm fine not riding any of the roller coasters, etc. I didn't realize POC had a restriction, but I'll probably ride that too.

You will be able to go on the vast majority of the rides. How old are your sons? Perhaps your family can split up if any of your boys are too little for the bigger rides. You could take the younger kids maybe back to a ride they really like while the older kids rode with dad.

Of course, talk to your own doctor about these issues, but I just thought that I would report to you what my dr. said.
