pregnancy questions update: GOOD NEWS!!!

Davidsprincess, thank you so much for your advise. The "funny" thing is that is what my dr suggested i go on BC, but he wants to send me to a gyn first to get all lab work done before any meds.

Another PCOS'er here! You definetly want to find a Dr. who has expercince with PCOS, if your Dr. just wants to treat you with BC pills, find a new Doc! There is a really great website and message board with a ton of info, it is Soulcysters.com. It is really great! Also, I am pregnant with my first! It took us quite a while, 14 years, to get here but my son should be here in little less that 5 weeks. Good luck to you!

I agree, BC is not the answer to PCOS - it's simply a band-aid. It covers up what your hormones are doing (or not doing) and you'll never know if it's getting better or worse until you get off the BC!

I don't mean to freak anyone out and I really don't know what PCOS is, but I do want to warn about ovarian cancer. It's hard to detect and usually misdiagnosed for months/years. My aunt was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 33 and her main symptom was excessive weight gain making her look several months pregnant. I pray that whatever you are going through is not something serious, but please urge your doctor to eliminate this option. Best of luck. If anyone is interested in learning more about ovarian cancer a good source is the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Inc. www.ovarian.org
