Pregnancy Board!!

Me to! I'm actually at the hospital right now doing the 3 hour test. This is my second time, I had to do it with my son as well. I was 8 points elevated, or 3 points depending on the doctor. Oh well, hope we both pass the long one.

I did pass my 3 hr, how about you? They didn't tell me how much my sugar was elevated though. Guess I can ask her on Friday when I go in for my regular appointment. The nurse said to 'avoid complex carbohydrates' and when I asked what she meant by that she said "just make healthy decisions!" So okay.... I guess.... I think it was bad to go trick-or-treating at Disneyland since they handed out the good stuff!

I'll let you know; I was just there this morning and won't have the results for a few days. [On a side note, I failed the one hour, but passed the three hour with my son--but that was five years ago.] Glad you passed!

Edit: I passed, too; heard today. But, like you, I have to lay off the sweets and carbs. This exact same situation happened with my son, so I wasn't surprised.

3pletprincesses, hope you feel better and have a healthy remainder of your pregnancy!

Sorry I haven't been around. We had a few bump on the road. I am now at 12 weeks and off work for the remaining of my pregnancy as I was contracting all the time. We had our u/s yesterday and it was so nice to se our really lazy baby in action... welll no action LOL the baby simply refused to move. They had me move, cough, jump and the little worm would go right back to same position with a few second. I made it hard for them to take any measurement. Our due date has now changed ofr May 2 instead of 6. Next u/s should be in 6 weeks.

Did you find out anything yet? Hopefully you passed! My OB seems to be a bit concerned about my overall weight gain, but it's not any different than my other 2 pregnancies hehehe. Yeah so I've been bad. She keeps telling me to make healthy choices with food but man that's hard with a large bowl of chocolate candy sitting on the table!

I'm so, so, so relieved. This was my second round of Clomid & my body doesn't tolerate it well. I've had SEVERE anxiety attacks and mood swings almost constantly since I started. And now I've got pregnancy hormones. Things have gotten so bad that my OB gave me a prescription for Zoloft and a referral to a therapist. Took my first pill today... I'm hoping things settle down soon (and the therapist will give me some strategies for coping with them) so that I'll finally about to ENJOY being pregnant instead of panic about it. :sad2:

I did 3 rounds of Clomid (unsuccessfully) and it was horrible! I had such bad mood swings I couldn't stand to be around myself! To add insult to injury, I gained 30 pounds in 3 months! It was terrible. I was so afraid that pregnancy would do the same, but it has been wonderful. I am 24w4d and have only gained about 12 pounds and have been relatively calm.

I have to admit, I did stress a good bit the first 9 weeks. After 11 years of infertility, it was hard to accept that everything was finally working and would be okay. I have been doing much better since then with only the occasional freak out!

Yes, I passed, thanks for asking. I haven't gained much yet, only 8 pounds at 28 weeks, but the chocolate is too tempting from Halloween. I'm going to have my husband take it all to work tomorrow. Then I won't see it and want it. I've been told to only gain 20 lbs the whole pregnancy, and I'm a size 12, so just about normal.

Yeah I gained about 70 with my first pregnancy but a LOT of that was the polyhydramnios (excess fluid around baby) and then part was me just eating poorly after being laid off from work and g'pa and dog dying... Second pregnancy I thought I was doing good at 20lbs at the start of my 3rd trimester. But then we were staying with my parents at the end... Mom doesn't cook and there are good restaurants near there hehe :) So I ended up about 50lbs. This time I'm at about 40 already but the first trimester I ate and ate to keep from being nausias...

hey all! glad to see about passing the gestational diabetes tests - i have mine this afternoon! (the 1 hour). NOT smart to do it halloween week LOL, who knows if I've passed. I've officially gained 10 lbs though, but I still feel like it's mostly all in my belly because nothing else feels big thankfully (well, BBs do).

She's been kicking a ton, and I haven't slept well in weeks. I'm SO tired. Still getting the pains on my right side, so I'm going to mention that to my dr today too, but thankfully the kicks & my doppler help me feel a little less nervous about her health!

I've been having fun shopping. Shower is in 1.5 weeks!! But barely anything has been purchased from the registries so I've been doing quite a bit of ebay'ing. Just bought myself a Ju Ju Be Be Prepared diaper bag that I've had my eye on for quite some time!! And, brought home our City Select stroller that DH's parents bought us last night. That was fun to push around the house LOL. Cats trying to climb it, dogs barking at it. Oh joy!

Had our 20 week sono today :) IT'S A GIRL!!! DD will be 16 months old when her sister is born. My numbers are great! The baby looks wonderful. We can't ask for more. :grouphug:

Hi everyone

Just joining the thread. I have a 2.5 year old daughter and just found out that I'm 7 weeks along with twins! I'm a little, ok, a lot, freaked out by having two babies on the way. Good thing we are DVC members, because we are going to need the room for our future WDW trips!

My daughter's first trip to WDW was when she was 3 months old and she's been to WDW and DL at least a dozen times in her little life. She's just as much of a Disney nut as the rest of the family. I have a feeling that we won't be going to Disney as often as we have been, once the twins are here. Just sounds a little too exhausting.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hello to the other expecting Mommies. :)

Hi & Congrats, twins plus one what fun!!!!

Yay congrats on the girl news!

I passed my 1 hr glucose! Wahoo! Guess it wasn't a mistake to schedule during halloween week after all (somehow we had about 40 full size candy bars left over...yikes! :scared1: )

My baby shower is this weekend!! My mom and friend are coming tomorrow and I'm giving them full reign over my kitchen (yikes) while I'm working.

Friday we are going to have a 3D/4D ultrasound just for fun - hopefully SHE is still a girl LOL.

Hope you're all doing well!

Hey!

Just found out last week we are expecting our third this coming July :) We are very excited!

I have my glucose in a few weeks. Last time, I guess I was on the border as far as taking the 3 hr. My Dr didn't make me take it, but was then out of town when my son came 3.5 weeks early. The other Dr said she would have made me take it, so I had to do all the diabetes testing/precautions. I am really hoping that does not happen again!

So far (24.5 weeks) I have gained about 6 pounds. But, I started teaching again towards the end of the first trimester after a year leave and I think I "lost" 10-15 lbs from being more active. I gained about 25 lbs with my first, most in the third tri. It seems like I am on pace to do that again and I have been STARVING the last few days! I have plenty of extra pounds normally, so I am happy with the 25 lbs!

No glucose test for me as I am already a type 2 diabetic.

Went for a followup yesterday and I am now on weekly visits. Baby is at 3 lbs 14 ounces (60%) and everything looked great. As long as my vitals and her vitals stay in good range we will just wait for her to come on her own.

I am 31 weeks today. :goodvibes

I'm still around as well! I'm 31 weeks, 3 days today and still have complete placenta previa. I also have suspected placenta accreta, which stinks, but my MRI 3 weeks ago ruled out the more serious form, placenta percreta, which is good. Currently I am scheduled to deliver by c-section at 36 weeks on 12/12 and will be having a hysterectomy at the same time because of the accreta. This was planned to be our last baby regardless, but the hyst is a little scary because the risk of complications is higher when they do it right after a c-section.

I'm still working right now because I work out of a home office, but I think I'll only be working through Thanksgiving and will start my maternity leave at 34 weeks.

If you remember from the beginning of this thread, we cancelled our August WDW trip because of the complications, but we are currently in the process of planning a Halloween Time trip to DLR again for my oldest DS's 8th birthday. I think I am actually more excited about the DL trip because we had so much fun when we went last year! DL is so much LESS overwhelming to plan!

Wow, I have really missed a lot. I'm now 25 weeks along and get to take the 1 hour glucose test. I need some help. I've done this test 4 times with other pregnancies and each time I always fail and end up doing the 3 hour test. I told my doctor this and he asked if I wanted to skip straight to the 3 hour test. I told him I hate that test more than the 1 hour! So, I'm asking for advice. I know I can't guarantee that I'll pass, but is there any way to increase my chances of passing? I really really don't want to take the 3 hour test! Thoughts?

Honestly, I don't think there's a way to increase your chances. I tried. I ate low carbs for three days prior to the test, and then only protein the day of the test, and I still failed. I just think my body handles the glucose differently in that short amount of time. You are drinking 100 grams of glucose. You should be under 135 or 140 depending on your doctor after the hour.

I could be wrong, and maybe someone can offer you more info. I'd honestly skip the 1 hour if I were you since you have the option. I had to do both for two pregnancies now... passed the 3 hour each time.

QVCShopper - I kind of figured it was a long shot. I'm like you in that my body just doesn't handle that much in such a short time.

When my doctor asked if I wanted to take the 3 hour, I was kind of going on a glimmer of hope that just maybe I would get lucky this time around and pass the 1 hour, then I could avoid the 3 hour. I've taken the 3 hour 5 times and I absolutely hate having it done. Oh well, I guess I should just steel for what I know will probably have to happen.

Hey all, I am currently 12 weeks pregnant, super excited to be almost into the 2nd trimester, we had a previous miscarriage in May. We have a trip planned for May when I should be around 29/30 weeks, so any and all advice would be much appreciated. My due date is May 24, if anyone else due around that time?
