Pregnancy Board!!

We can only afford to go every 4 years or so, and there are so many places I want us to go, Disney will be one of many family trips. This baby better like to travel because he/she is going where ever we go!

My husband and I are in the same boat. I'm 8 weeks with our first and I'm already loosely planning a first trip, but honestly we want to wait until the child can remember because we have other places we want to visit. DH really wants to wait until we have 2 and they are both 3 or older... So I'm looking at 5 years until our next trip :( hopefully I can figure something out!

Can I join the party?! :yay::yay::yay: I just found out I'm almost 5 weeks with our third. Still early but very excited. And you are the first people I've told!!:banana::banana: We'll be in disney at 25 weeks. I guess I need to plan a bunch more trips to try all the resorts with 4 people limits in the next 3 years!

We just got home yesterday from our So Cal trip! We stayed at Disney for a week and then did Sea World, San Diego Zoo and the Safari Park. I'm now 30 weeks and phew I'm tired! We had a blast though!

Appointment went great! My RE is one of about 5 in the office, but he does the US himself. I am actually lucky because my OB does it himself as well. I really like both practices.

Released from the RE today. We will be giving this picture to our parents this weekend!!!

Love the picture!!

Hi ladies!!

Please help me! For some reason, this is a HUGE issue in my head! LOL!

I send out a funny Christmas letter each year, usually mid-December. Its a memo to Santa from one of his elves, usually Elf #44. In it, the elf tells what has happened to our family during the year, throwing in some elf humor along the way. Its very cute, I've been told, and many people tell me they look forward to reading it every year.

Here's my dilemma:

The baby will come around mid-December.

Do I send out my regular Christmas memo from the elf saying are expecting a baby any day, then follow up with birth announcements after Christmas? Announcements go to everyone on my Christmas list.

Or, do I send a postcard from the elf to Santa where the elf will say he's just so busy helping us get ready for the new baby that he'll send a complete memo after Christmas, then do a regular newsletter and enclose a birth announcement the week following Christmas?

Or, is it cheesy to put them in the same envelope? Hey, a mama's gotta save money, right?!?

Or....what? And why the heck is this such a big, tough decision for me?!?

Here's to hoping some really organized and wise mamas have some advice for me!!

Hope everyone's feeling well!!

Maybe I'm cheesy but I'd just do both at once :) Course mine is due Dec 29th so that's not an option for me!

We are expecting DD#2 on January 16th. We have the April 2012 DCL Hawaiian cruise booked (I booked a TBA infant--even picked the right gender!) in early April 2011 when we were still "trying" and before I was even pregnant. Soooo, that means we will be taking our 5 year old DD and our new 14'ish week infant on "Mickey's Boat" in April. We are all so excited!

We're cruising in May with a 4+mo old :) TBA infant is booked in grandma and grandpa's room LOL!

I'd wait and send them together. Heck I'm impressed that you are still doing announcements! My second barely got out before the 6 month mark... I'm just hoping the 3rd gets one before he/she turns one!!

Thank you all. When I told everyone it was pretty funny... I told my dad and stepmom, my mom and the IL's all at seperate times and none of them had their reading glasses on so no one could read what the picture said. So at all 3 occasions there was a lot of squinting, and asking what it said.

But of course everyone was so excited. Although DH's mom threw the wrapping paper at me. Not really sure where that came from... Maybe she thought it would be easier to get rid of me with only 1 kid? :rotfl2:

Hehe that's funny. We told my family in a wedding congrats card to my sister. We signed it "From Steve, Terri, Sydney, Elizabeth and new baby". The funny part was that I grabbed the wrong card and it was an anniversary card so when my sister was looking at it my mom was cracking up "look it's the wrong card!" We had to tell my sister to keep reading... A couple of times. Then she showed mom and mom's like yeah I know wrong card. Tracy pointed to the signature hehe. Then Tracy had to read it to dad (no reading glasses) and he first said "Say what??" then the third time she read it, he shot us dirty looks ROFL.

I'd wait and send them together. Heck I'm impressed that you are still doing announcements! My second barely got out before the 6 month mark... I'm just hoping the 3rd gets one before he/she turns one!!

It was the same way with my 2nd... Well actually my first was in the NICU for 3mo so those didn't go out till she was about 4mo old too! My SIL had hers out for her son who is 2mo younger than my 2nd long before I got mine out. I'm going to do it sooner this time! Really!

LOve this! Congrats to everyone. I am 7 weeks pregnant with our second! Planning a trip while pregnant in January - went while pregnant with our first too! We brought our first to Disney last May when he was 13 months old, but my husband wants to wait until the new baby is nearly 3 to go back after this trip! Oh, well, at least I'll have fun planning for nearly 3 years.... :rotfl2:

Hi All,

So I have just returned from my family vacation(husband, son, parents, brothers, etc.) Needless to say, my husband and I were working on trying to conceive our 2nd child.(I will find out if I am pregnant the end of next week.) With my 1st child I got pregnant so fast, I just announced it with no special way. I wanted to do something clever for 2nd, and this is my idea:

Our family vacation to Disney World is an annual vacation of ours and after every year I take all of our pictures and put them on a dvd(slideshow) with music, etc. So my idea this time, if I am pregnant, is to have the last imagine announce the pregnancy. I was trying to think of a saying to go along with a photo maybe(whether it be of my son, something disney related, etc.)

So I would love to hear some of you ideas!!!! Thanks :goodvibes

You could always do the "It's so much friendlier with 2!" With pooh and piglet! I'm trying to think of something for #3... but am stuck.... that's what I used for 2!

I'm so excited to find this thread. I'm 6 weeks 3 days pregnant with number 2. We have a 3 year old DD who will turn 4 2 months after the baby is due. We are heading to WDW in 3 weeks (EEK!!!) and I'm so looking forward to it. This will be my DD's last trip ( she's gone 3 x's already) so I want to focus on her. That will be much easier now that I'm not going on all of the big rides.

It's so nice to meet you all.

Jamie

I found out last friday by surprise that I am pregnant with number 3. My dh and I have talked about having another as recently as six months ago but due to my health problems with resulting from my cancer which is in remission 5yrs now and some issues he has had for the past year we didn't think it would happen at least not w/out consulting all of my doctors. Tuesday they did an u/s to determine how far along I am since I don't have a period anymore and they gave me a due date of 4/11/12. After I found out friday I was a bit scared b/c I had no idea and no symptoms I went to the doctor for follow ups on my thyroid which has been damaged by the radiation that I have had as well as chemo. When doing some testing my doc apparently did a pregnancy test and it came back positive. I kept it to myself until tuesday after I had the ultrasound done b/c I didn't want to get me or dh excited about it.

I managed to surprise my dh and older dd b/c we bought pumpkins to carve one for each of us and so I told them we needed one more for all of us and this is the pumpkin I presented to them.

just wanted to pop in and congratulate you all on your pregnancies!! i've been so busy with work and other stuff, and more recently attempting to get my doctor to listen to me!

I went in yesterday bc i was having really sharp pains on my right side. Doc wasn't worried, but thought it might be a UTI (never had one before). So I should get the results today. What worried me, however, is that I'm measuring (fundal height) about 18-20 cm - I am 24.5 weeks along and should be bigger. Ugh. AND he wasn't concerned about that either, and did not order an ultrasound. I'm pissed. It's probably nothing, but when I call today for my UTI results, I'm going to request an ultrasound for my own peace of mind. Not sure how to handle it, as I know my doc is out today, so maybe I'll get sent in to another doc who might be more concerned. I just want to be sure she's still growing fine and maybe just in a funny position, or maybe there IS actually something wrong (like low amniotic fluid) and they can fix it now before anything terrible happens...

HUGS! :grouphug: Try not to worry too much. Those measurements tend to be very varried depending on who measures each time and how the baby is positioned. I measured 1 month small when I was 2o weeks along and by 30 weeks was measuring a month big!! ;) The baby was fine and came on time and was normal size. Hope you are feeling better and that you get some piece of mind when you talk to them!

Make sure that if you request the ultrasound they are in agreement and it's written as a doctors order though. My sister had to pay oop for an ultrasound she requested and it wasn't covered by her plan since she requested it and it wasn't ordered. Learned that hard way that time!

Can you see another OB?? Or at least go back and have it checked again in a couple of weeks. If done correctly, the measurement should be pretty close to your number of weeks, according to the March of Dimes. My first pregnancy I was diagnosed with polyhydramnios (too much fluid) after measuring large at 29 weeks (about 49cm). Turns out (I called later to ask) I started measuring large at 19 and the midwife said nothing! By 33 weeks, according to the fetal specialist Dr, I looked like someone that carried triplets! DD was born at 34 weeks after my water broke and was in the NICU for 3mo. She was diagnosed basicly with weak muscles all over and was basicly unable to swallow to eat. She had to have a feeding tube.

Measuring large or small should be reason enough to have another ultrasound. Especially if there's weird pain involved... Listen to your gut, mom! I learned that the hard way after my first pregnancy.

So my 1hr glucose tolerance test came back elevated and I had to go in for the 3hr today. Man what a pain to sit in the hospital for 4 hours, ugh. Then my Dr never called to tell me the results today and I have to wait till Monday when I can call and ask.

I, too, went in at 26 3/7 and they did my measurements. I was measuring 24 weeks. Doc pulls in the portable ultrasound machine. Baby's head was in my right side, baby's feet are in my lower left quadrant. Doc said she wasn't concerned because baby was likely stretching me sideways rather than up and down. Now that would explain my ovary pain on my left. I wouldn't worry about it too much because you could be measuring small just based on the way the baby is positioned.

Yay! After a bust last cycle, this cycle was a success! I ovulated the DAY we left for WDW with the family and I got a + test on Wednesday.

Due date is 7/1/12. DD will be 3.5 then. DD was born 12/31 and my birthday is 1/16 so I am THRILLED to have a summer baby.

First OB appt is November 1 so we'll set up my ultrasound then... I was in maternity clothes at 10 weeks with DD, my first, so I doubt I'll be able to keep the pregnancy a secret for too long. I'm 4 weeks now. We'll probably spill the beans after we get the ultrasound & everything looks OK.

I'm so, so, so relieved. This was my second round of Clomid & my body doesn't tolerate it well. I've had SEVERE anxiety attacks and mood swings almost constantly since I started. And now I've got pregnancy hormones. Things have gotten so bad that my OB gave me a prescription for Zoloft and a referral to a therapist. Took my first pill today... I'm hoping things settle down soon (and the therapist will give me some strategies for coping with them) so that I'll finally about to ENJOY being pregnant instead of panic about it. :sad2:

Thanks everyone!! I have an appointment for next wednesday (less than 2 weeks after my last appt last thursday when I was measuring small). I can still feel her kicking. Doc wouldn't do an ultrasound as they were "certain" measuring small was fine. Ugh. If, however, I'm still measuring small next Wednesday I'll definitely make sure they look into it. Also get to do the 1 hr glucose test then too...lovely!!

Yay, congrats NYE! That's awesome! Sorry the clomid gave you such side effects, hopefully it'll settle down soon. I was only on the 50mg dose and never felt any different, but it was only for 1 month. I'm sure a higher dosage for longer would have started to wear me down!

Hi everybody! Congrats on your pregnancies!

I'm 27w with my 3rd. I have two boys, my oldest turned 3 in August, and my little guy is 17 months.

We are taking them to WDW for their first trip next week...along with my bro/SIL (who will be 12w preggo!) and my parents. Its going to be quite a whirlwind, I imagine!

Me to! I'm actually at the hospital right now doing the 3 hour test. This is my second time, I had to do it with my son as well. I was 8 points elevated, or 3 points depending on the doctor. Oh well, hope we both pass the long one.
