Thanks! Hubby and I are TTC, and I will be able to cruise if it works, I was just curious what people did differently- except drink less!! My DD will be 18 months when we sail as well...
We sailed this summer on 2 B2B Med cruises so I was 13-16 weeks pregnant with our 4th. Also sailed on
DCL when I was 16 weeks pregnant with our 3rd. And also
Royal Caribbean when I was, hmm, about 6-8 weeks with our 1st. The 3rd baby I really didn't do anything differently as my morning sickness had ended (which for me, with every kid, has been all day, everyday from 5 weeks to anywhere between 15-20 weeks), I wasn't big yet, and all around felt good. Once excursion we did, a semi-sub, made me really nauseated, but it also made my husband nauseated so I think it was more the tiny, shaky boat than the pregnancy.
This past summer, however, I was generally miserable everyday for both cruises. Morning sickness lasted the longest with this baby, plus I was always exhausted, even sleeping a good 8-9 hours at night, I was falling asleep on all the buses during the excursions and in bed by 10pm. The ship motion didn't really bother me, but a lot of times the dining room smells did. That was also an issue with our first baby, just walking into the dining room often did me in.
Overall it was fine, but I will say that the cruises where I had morning sickness really soured the experience even after the fact. I would still go again, cause I'd rather go sick than not at all, but if you can go after morning sickness has passed, I would vote for that. Of course, you can't predict that, so....
To the poster who posted a page or so back that you lost a baby, I want to say I totally empathize with you as I lost a pregnancy just around the time you posted that. I just saw this thread now cause we haven't been to WDW in over a year so I haven't been on this part of the boards much, but I wanted to say I'm sorry and I hope you have luck in the future, if not already. To give you some hope, I lost our 4th pregnancy on 9/21/12 in a ruptured ectopic pregnancy that was really bad. I lost half my blood volume into my abdomen, lost a fallopian tube, needed 3 transfusions, and was hospitalized for 3 days. It was devastating and really scary as well. My husband swore off any more kids after that, but I really felt like I needed another one after having one taken away from me like that (I was 9 weeks at the time). He finally agreed but I wanted to do an HSG (like the OP of this thread mentioned) to be sure my remaining tube was clear to not repeat that experience. I got pregnant the 2nd month after the HSG and my OB monitored me from Day 1 to be sure everything was going ok (my first blood test was at day 27 in my cycle, 2 days after my positive home test, only because I did that on a Saturday). I'm now almost 27 weeks and all is well, the baby is healthy, growing where it should be, and slated to arrive in early December. Still doesn't mean I am worry free as after the last pregnancy everything freaks me out, but so far everything is going well. So there is definitely hope after a loss!
