My daughter and I leave next week for our first disney world vacation. We just found out that she is pregnant and will be about 10 to 11 wks when we leave. If anyone has been in the same boat, what rides can she ride and what should she avoid? Please I need all the advice I can get. Thanks Laura

I would definately check with the doctor first. The stage that she is in still very critical. I would play it safe and only do the shows....and save the rides for later when that bundle of joy comes along!!!!! :Pinkbounc

hi laura,

i went a few years ago, when i was about 2 months pregnant. and i did go on SOME rides. i will give you an example.

it's a small world
pooh ride
buzz ride
haunted mansion
peter pan
spaceship earth
boat ride in mexico

that may have been it.
there are signs posted out side the ride that will say -not recomended for expectent mothers- or something like that!
but just be safe and dont go on anything that moves or jerks around to much or fast.
good luck and have fun!

i went around 14 wks pregnant in 2004 and had a great time, and a healthy baby. the big disappointment for me was no kilamanjaro safaris........i rode all the fantasyland rides, and i never felt tired or deprived. i will tell her to keep hydrated, and a bottle of water on her at all times, and don't pass up a good chance to go to the bathroom. also if she is one who has her allergies kick in when pregnant, she should see what allergy pill is best. airwalks or crocs are great for walking. also, carry a mini umbrella for instant shade. the preggo girl can be the fast pass getter, drink getter, shopper, show watcher while others ride more adventourous rides. you all should carry cell phones or walkie talkies to stay in contact. also, don't forget to take the dr. phone number and the number of the hospital the dr. practices in and call if anything comes up that concerns you.........the little one in the pic is the one who went in utero...and the middle one too by the way.....also, pick up some dried pineapple and dried bananas at the dollar tree to put in your fanny pack to keep blood sugars ok if in a long line.......

quite a few of the guidebooks contain info on disney for preggos, the unofficial guide, passporter, birbaums, to name a few

They are marked on signs at the entrance to the ride lines and at least once before boarding. They are also marked with a red little triangle icon on the park map.
Rides that WDW has warnings on are:
MK
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Splash Mountain
Space Mountain
Tomorrowland Speedway

Epcot
Mission Space
Test Track
Soarin' (although I don't know why; it is a very slow moving, gentle ride)

Studio
Star Tours
Rock N Roller Coaster
Tower of Terror

AK
Kilimanjari Safari
Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl
Kali River Rapids
Expedition Everest

A nother thing to remember is to keep hydrated and rest before you get tired.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their input, you all have been so helpful. I'm sorry it took me so long to respond, but long nights at work made it a little difficult. We both love the thrill rides, and we are a little bumbed but it won't stop us from having the best vacation ever, and more to look forward to, so thanks again. :thumbsup2
