Pregnancy and BC MOMMIES HELP!!

Well, with my first DD, I went off the pill in August and we started trying in December and got pregnant that month... pure luck!!! After she was born, I didn't go back on the pill and we tried and tried and tried just before she turned 1 for our 2nd and it took almost 7 months... turns out that by not taking the pill, I'm prone to ovarian cysts and they were preventing the eggs from getting through the fallopian tube.. the pill suppressed them, so I say go for it as soon as you can when you get off the pill!!! :) GL!

Anyone have any experience getting pregnant after stopping the Depo shot?

No experience, but I have heard that it can take a long time (like 6 months).

My friend's little sister was on depo for quite a while (3 years maybe). I know she had a VERY hard time conceiving, and was even wondering if something may be wrong. I know her ovulation was all messed up for a LONG time.

She went off depo in July of 2002 when she got married, and finally got pregnant in the July 2004. So it took her two years. I was not very close to her anymore after her marriage, so idk if she had any miscarriages or if it just took that long, but they now have a healthy baby girl. She was fairly young, only 21 when they started trying and 23 when they concieved.

Dh and I had a long talk about it yesterday and he didn't realize all the unknowns. I guess he thought I would just stop the pill and we would get pregnant. So we have decided to use up whatever I have left (I think one or two months) and then start ttc in June/July. I am so excited, at least I know he is ready and there is something to look forward too, even if we don't get pregnant right away :)

That's really good news that he wants to at least take the step to go off the pill. He's probably more ready than he realizes, but I wouldn't tell him that! As you can tell by this thread, very few people have a "perfect" system--it's kind of ironic how much time we spend planning NOT getting pregnant, and then it turns out to not quite as easy as our health teachers led us to believe.

I wish you the best, parenthood is an exciting journey for a couple to make.

I have another question. Ok so I have one months worth of BC left. That would take me up until the week of our vacation. I am worried about two things. One, I don't really want my period on vacation and 2 I don't know how I am going to feel the first week that I am usually back on the pill but won't be taking them (still our vacation). The doctor gave me a pack of ortho-tryclene low once because we weren't sure my mail-in prescription would get there in time. Should I try post-poning by a week or two or just suck it up?

hmm...I think that if you are planning on TTC after this pack...just suck it up. If not then maybe get one more pack.
This is my first month off of BCP and I haven't felt any differently yet. SO it's possible you won't feel anything either.

I would just suck it up, but that's just my opinion and when I was on pills I didn't mind my period cause it was very short and I knew when it was coming exactly. I also did not feel any differently when I went off pills (and essentially that was more than once cause I skipped a month here and there).
